  1. I would think they don't even count incorrectly-done applications, since they won't look at them anyway. I wonder, though, if they even get that many incorrectly-done applications. I would think probably very few.
  2. I think I remember reading somewhere that they generally recommend twice as many applicants as they have grants. But I can't remember where I read that so I'm not sure as to how true it is.
  3. Thanks for the spreadsheet! Added in my info
  4. Actually, I spoke too soon. I received an email from Fulbright this morning with the subject as "Fulbright Application Received." This was after I had submitted my application to my adviser (on 9/30) and after he had submitted the rest of the materials (10/9). Hope that helps in some way!
  5. Just came on here to ask the same thing! My campus adviser said he submitted everything last week, so I figured maybe I would receive an email then, but I haven't. Also very nervous about it, but I'm glad I'm not alone!
  6. Just submitted my application yesterday for my campus deadline!! And now, the very, veeeeeery daunting task of waiting Good luck to everyone!
  7. I've been trying to register for the test for the past 24 hours, and I keep getting an error message after I select a date/time and hit "Next." I've tried on three different browsers on two different computers, but I keep getting the same message. I tried to register over the phone, yesterday, but the person I was speaking to couldn't get the registration to go through, either. I'm a little nervous because I am trying to sign up for Sept. 23rd, and I don't want it to fill up. Anyone experiencing similar problems?
  8. Got it! I'm still just confused on the first number, though. For example, in your case, does that mean only 7 people in the whole country applied for Moldova? Or only 7 people made it through the first round of cuts? I've been reading your blog BTW and it looks awesome! I hope you have an amazing experience
  9. Hi all! Just a question... I am applying for the ETA in Italy, and I was looking at applicant statistics from previous years (from the actual Fulbright website). For the past year, it says something like 69 applications and 3 grantees. Does that mean only 69 people applied for Italy in general, or 69 people made it through the first round and were recommended? I can't believe that in the entire country, only 69 people would apply for something as prestigious as this, but I thought I'd ask here and see if anybody could clear that up for me! Thanks!
  10. That is a good point! Maybe I am being too wordy and can consolidate a bit. It's the Italian program at Rutgers University.
  11. Hi! I am new to this site as a college senior getting ready to apply to graduate school! I am really glad I found this place to read about other people's experiences (and also to stress out with all of you!). I am applying to quite a few programs (7 MA's and the Fulbright), but only one of them has no limit to how long the personal statement should be. They only ask that I explain my academic training, area of expertise, scholarly interests, and the project I'm planning to work on. I wrote what I think is a very compelling personal statement, and I'm very proud of it. However, it's 2.5 pages single-spaced, 12 pt. font. Does anyone have any advice about that? Will the person reading it say "This is too long, I'm not going to bother reading the whole thing?" or should I worry more about quality over quantity? Thanks so much!
