Ohh they all sound so amazing. Here are some of the more reputable residencies in Korea, you should check them out when you get a chance. Korean residencies are very welcoming to international artists, especially in New Media/interdisciplinary, so you should check these residencies out. The ones I mention below are all supported by museums and the government(therefore visas are sponsored). Best of lucks with your waitlist and residencies' applications! Sema Nanji Residency they partially reimburse you for your airplane ticket One of the most famous residencies in Korea Deadline: Between Aug-Sept Incheon Art Platform Studio and guest room *need letters of rec MMCA Changdong You get monthly stipends! MMCA Goyang Similar to ChangDong Seoul Art Space Geumcheon Their English website is a little behind date but the artists they get are super talented. https://blog.naver.com/sas_g ( a link to their international AIR)

I got an email from them stating my application id. I applied around December.

Haha I'm in a similar situation except I am waitlisted at UT Austin. Just out of curiosity, what residencies are you looking for in Japan? I am based in Korea so just interested.

All my UT Austin peeps, I got extremely generous and kind waitlist email from them.( Kinda surprised since I had my interview at 2 in the morning via Skype) They stated I was on an extremely short waitlist but not holding my breath. I am assuming rejection from UCI and UCLA too. Oh well, next year.

@Quavo I am in the same boat as you. I had a Skype interview with the painting department at the end of January and haven't heard back since. They did tell me results would be out 3-4 weeks from then so I am waiting out until this weekend.

People generally seem interested in applying for SoCal schools so here's a recent exhibition which showcases graduate students' works from numerous schools in Southern California. http://greaterlamfa.com/index.html Here another interesting exhibition over at the Hammer Museum, Made In LA, features works by 35 Los Angeles artists with an emphasis on emerging and under-recognized artists. A lot of them graduated from graduate school in Southern California. http://hammer.ucla.edu/made-in-la-2014/ Feel free to ask any questions
