  1. thank you guys for your responses!! within the day I was complaining someone actually registered me for the classes I wanted. Thanks... I guess, I will just test out this semester, if things don't work out or if I don't feel like I am learning, I may just stop. Thanks again
  2. I want to work with aging/older adults, the disabled, and possibly human traffic victims.
  3. Hello, I was just accepted into my msw program. It is an online program. I need some advice on problems I am having so far. I just want to make sure I'm headed in the right direction continuing with this program and that I shouldn't be fearful to continue: 1) Do other programs NOT allow you to register for classes yourself? With this program, they say students can't register for their own classes. That's fine, but when I ask for them to register me for classes, they are taking a long time. Classes are filling up quickly. I am expecting them to register me the same day that I ask. Is this expecting too much? Then I ask again by email, still not getting a response. I call, the phone goes to voicemail. Also, they advertised certain classes on their website, and now they are saying they only offer them certain years and have classes available that were not advertised on the website. I know things are subject to change, probably without notice, but I think it's deceptive. Can any of you offer me advice or let me know how your registration experience is/was? Am I just being too impatient and expecting too much? Thank you
  4. I appreciate honesty. Thanks a lot. Sucks that I can't apply now, though. The struggle is real...lol. Thanks again.
  5. Hey! I am applying to CSULA. I really want to go there! Their program is exactly what I am looking for. I know I should apply to other schools but I can't afford it right now.
  6. Here are my stats...anyone can offer me advice? I am pretty poor at this point. I can only afford to apply to one school. my choice is CSULA. They are an urban generalist program with the emphasis I desire to pursue (aging and families) I don't want to want to wait until next application period to apply to graduate school. I have a degree in Studio Art with a 3.2 GPA. I liked art school but I realized it really isn't my passion. No it didn't take me the entire time to figure that out, but most of it and by the time I wanted to change it was too late. I have taken a lot of social science classes, though. I have a C in Stats. I have an A in Abnormal Psych. And a B in Comparative Political Movements. I took an online class at a community college but got a D because I wasn't used to the online format. I currently volunteer as a friendly visitor to seniors in my community. I have done this for four months. I also volunteered for one semester as a mentor for a youth. What are my chances??? Do I have any at all? I feel like I have none. Do you think I should wait until next application period, although...I really do not I put on my application that I plan on retaking the class I got a D in during the summer.
  7. I am in the process of actually submitting an online application. The fees are so high...I'm debating about whether I should pay for it or not at this moment. So sad.
