  1. I wonder if other people who interviewed were rejected.....
  2. Was this post interview for any of you guys?
  3. Bumping this thread up. I've noticed there's a lot of dialogue on the results page. Some mentioned that there are POI's who have yet to finalized their decision. Some rejections have seen sent out as well. If you are interviewed and have not heard back, let's use this thread to figure who has yet to choose. The results say Dr. Miville selected her students. Anyone knows any others?
  4. ahhhhhh. ♫ Say something I'm giving up on you♫ 3 full weeks post interview...

  5. Is the master's their money machine, more so than not. That, however, does not automatically mean it would not help make you more competitive later. That's a decision that you'll have to thoroughly think through.
  6. Not at all. lol They take applicants to the PhD and place them in the master programs as they may be more qualified than the master's applicants. I have actually heard that doing an internal transfer from Masters to Phd in the program is quite difficult actually.
  7. I am not too sure about the money situation for masters students. I am aware, however, that TC does accept a large amount of its PHD applicant pool into the Masters Program (this is how they can fund the Phd students).
  8. Going on 3rd week post interview...appears like they made top choices sent out acceptances n rejections. So here they have me...just waiting...

Call/email them if you were not officially wait listed!

  9. I just wanted to open this thread to inquire about those who have been accepted into this program according to the results page. Congrats! That's just awesome. I am guessing I am somewhere between a reject and a waiting list. But would you share your POI, interview day 1 or 2, and how you found out, perhaps funding range if you're comfortable. Feel free to message me if that feels better. If anyone knows someone who got into TC let me know. I guess I am going a little cray...
  10. 2 weeks post interview and nothing from the Top Choice. [1 person on results page accpeted no info other provided] ahhhhhh. ♫ Say something I'm giving up on you♫

Who? The school or the poster?

  11. For the person who reported on TC Columbia Counseling Psychology, who is your POI? & Congrats! Planning on going? Feel free to message me as well
  12. At this point I would not advise you to send an email to them. It would just seem unnecessary to them if they will be seeing you the following week. Many people begin to contact potential POIs early in the application process. I think it's best for you to just prepare and knock them dead come interview day. G luck!
  13. @shadowclaw that is very true. I am just starting my spring break, here's to hoping they are meeting next week. And that sounds like the best reason to celebrate on break. I'd love to get some news on Monday morning <-- (hopeful thinking....sigh)
  14. I think many of us are stuck playing the waiting game. Either waiting on decisions or funding we're all in this ugly yucky and may I say unnecessary? space. I figured I'd start this thread to get us through spring break. This of course thinking that the schools and faculty do not meet, but do they!? What are your thoughts. . .
  15. Hello Gabe, Not in sociology per se, but close enough. And I always had an inquiry about the interview day. From your experiences in reviewing boards. Do you feel the interview is truly the deciding factor, for those who make it there? Or are the candidates ranked much before they arrive on campus, and decisions are 70-75% finalize....? I have always felt that by interview days professors know who they want....what are your thoughts? p.s I just finished my interview at my top choice.....
  16. AHHHHH I am wishing for good news as well from my top choice.
  17. We're talking top choice? What would YOU do and why?

  19. Hi guys, I have gotten 1 interview and it so happens to be that this school has been my top choice since applications back in the fall. There's a lot riding on it for me and I want to be well prepared. In doing so, I wanted to ask if you could share about your experiences, interview questions, faculty interaction...etc etc
  20. This is the 3rd week since I had interviews for this one program. Others (1 i know) have received acceptances as of last Friday. Am I done? (they did say they'd take up to 3 weeks)....thoughts?
  21. When I got into my masters I was at home and decided to print out the shortened version of the name and paste it on the garage door windows. thankfuly there was an exact amount of letters to windows. when my parents came home they were nicely surprised!
  22. As cliche as this is going to sound you need to be where you're going to be happy. If that means taking out the loan then so be it.
  23. I think that you should definitely ask for an extension first. But if his extension still does not help you in your decision, I think you should accept and possibly decline. At the end of the day you do not want to be stuck in a program for 5 years if you're going to hate. Selfish? I don't see why you categorize this as selfish. Remember this is YOUR JOURNEY, not your POI.
  24. I wouldn't worry about it. At the interview give it your best! g luck
  25. I keep refreshing my inbox followed by the results search here. I've got a paper to write!!!!! Who got an interview for TC Columbia Counseling?!
