  1. If I never received an interview do I still have a shot at being waitlisted or should I presume rejection?
  2. Hi, everyone. I was just accepted into the M.A. program in Mental Health Counseling at Boston College, and I'm trying to figure out what my living options are. My fiance and I were hoping to buy a house wherever we decided to move, but obviously there are not many options for buying a house near Boston.everything is very expensive, and crowded. Can anyone suggest a town/city near Boston College where the possibility of finding a house might be better? OR, where we could find a nice (affordable) apartment. We were really looking forward to buying a house and having a place of our own for the first time, our budget is about 250,000, but it seems like everything near Boston within that price range is kinda horrible. We're willing to be a max of 40 minutes away. Thanks!
  3. I'm in a similar situation; I was recently rejected from the doctoral program at Boston College, but offered admission to their M.A. program (counseling). I'm pretty certain that I'm going to be rejected (wait-listed at best) from all of the doctoral programs that I applied to this round, as I haven't received any interview invitations and I know that they've all sent them out. My only choice at this point is a masters. I'm just waiting to see if I get offers from the other masters programs that I applied to before I make my final decision. Boston College is a great school, but also very expensive! My advice would be to just go with what feels right to you, honestly. It sounds cliche, but go with your gut. A Ph.D. program is great, but if it's not a perfect fit, then you're not going to be happy in it.
  4. I applied to the MA in counseling Psychology program at Assumption college and MS in Counseling Psychology at U-Mass Boston, Salem State, and Plymouth State. Since I'm pretty sure that I won't be getting into any of the doctoral programs that I applied to, I'm really hoping to hear from one of these...Assumption is my top choice. I wish that I didn't have to wait until March/ April!
  5. I applied to several different Ph.D. programs in clinical psychology, but (due to the fact that I haven't received any interviews) I've come to realize that I may not have a chance at getting into a Ph.D. program this round. I applied to a couple Masters programs in Mental Health Counseling, and one of the programs that I just (last minute) applied to is the MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Plymouth State. Has anybody else applied to this program, or does anybody have any knowledge about the quality of the program? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.
  6. gotta stop over eating as a coping mechanism...

  7. I'm surprised that I've heard nothing but negative news. I thought that I would at least get one interview invitation, even if I wasn't accepted, but so far this month has been one disappointment after another.
  8. 3 presumed rejections (admissions office said that all interview invite were out) and haven't heard a word of positive news.

  9. It's brutal. I'm barely keeping myself together at this point.
  10. Multiple schools that I applied to have started to appear in the results search...time to panic.

Try not to worry too much - it's early days yet!

  11. To the person who received an interview invite to U Cincinnati clinical, congrats. Would you mind please telling me your POI? Thank you.
  12. Really hoping for some good news tomorrow, after hearing bad news from two schools today.

  13. I called University of Maryland College Park as well and they told me that they, also, have already sent out all of their interview invitations; however, I applied to the counseling program there, it might be different for clinical. I found out from Tech by e-mailing them.
  14. I was e-mailed by Virginia Tech that all of their invitations have already been sent out. Bummer
  15. In case anyone is wondering, I called both UMD and Virginia Tech and all interview invites have already been extended for the counseling and clinical programs.
