I appreciate your cordial answer.

I appreciate your answers. Based on your advice, I think it is wise to retake the test. I believe that my command of English is not as good as most American students'. In this case, I think I have to receive 4.0 score at least. @izmir Could you tell me what departments set their minimum AWA score as 4.0? I am just curious.
-
HI, I just received my GRE scores. I had 164/165/3.5. Should I retake GRE, because of the low AW score? I read the results thread in this forum and found that there were few accepted students who had 3.5 AW score.

Thanks for the information. Hopefully, we can hear from Georgetown soon.
-
Congrats! Fingers crossed for all waitlisted comrades!
-
Thanks for the information. Can we expect that there will be more offers or waitlist decisions?
-
I also received a rejection from Northwestern last night. It looks the department just needed time to upload rejection letters.
-
I sent an email to the graduate coordinator last week. However, I have not received a reply. I think it is worth trying though.

Thanks for the info!

Does anyone know the Minnesota's visit day for admitted students?
-
Thanks for the inside info!

You deserve it Monody!

I hope that your waitlist status will be changed to accepted status soon. May I know when did you get the notification? Did you get the notification after contacting the department?
-
Did anyone hear from UIUC? I can find two acceptances in the results page. Since there are so many trolls, I cannot trust the information.
-
Great. Hope you will be contacted again with an offer. Is your subfield IR? I guess that the DGS might be your POI.
-
The troll is gone. But I am sure that he will come back with different name tags.
-
UIUC tends to decide early. It looks that someone had an admission on January 7 last year. .
-
Congrats on your offer! Was your status changed in the application system?

Hi @Dibenzofulvene. Mine says the same thing. I think that every UW applicants experienced the access problem from Saturday to Monday. But do you think everyone experiences the "available for recommendation" sign too? It looks that only small number of applicants have the sign, since I can only find about 7-8 people who have been talking about the sign in this site. How do you think? And congrats for your offers! -

Mine says the same thing. In fact, I study political science. I read some posts that some history and anthropology major students also have also experienced same thing (available for recommendation page and cannot access to the grad app page). -

Hi. Mine also says same thing. I submitted the application in 12/15 in central time, but according to the eastern time it was 12/16.... I think they use the est. I am also eager to know what the meaning is. In fact, one of my letter writers submitted his letter after the deadline. I suspect that it means that the late letter of "recommendation" is "available." Did your letter providers upload their letters in a timely manner? Then I am completely wrong. -
Correlatesoftheory might be right. But we cannot know how adcoms will deal with the GRE scores. If there are cutoff scores, regardless of TOEFL score or ESL training, his file would not be read. dododo, You do not have to worry that your perfect GRE score will be wasted. Your first quant score is already good enough and makes you get into every school.

Super high GRE scores do not make an admission. However, low scores will definitely hurt you. Search out the school that you want to attend in the result page. You will barely find the admits who have 155 in verbal reasoning section.
