Hi everybody, I was rejected from the three Phd Programs (CUNY, NYU, RUTGERS) for which I had applied. My interest is directed toward Spanish Linguistics (more precisely Sociolinguistics). I would like to work on strengthening my application in order to reapply next year, therefore I was wondering if you could give me some advice on how to become better qualified. I would appreciate any suggestions/personal experiences. Thank you so much!

Do you think the LinguistList summer internship is a good way to make myself more qualified in order to apply for a PhD Proram next year? Thanks

Two months ago the Assistant Program Officer told me they accept 6 doctoral applicants and all of them will be awarded a 5 year scholarship that includes tuition, health insurance at low cost, and an annual stipend. Hope this helps!!!

I'm waiting for a signal from CUNY! Any news?
