Thanks CW01 for starting the topic. I've just accepted CMU's offer to be one of the six new MFAs this Fall. Will start looking into housing, and it would be great to house share with another CMU grad(s).

Congrats everyone on all the awesome acceptances. After all the deliberating, I decided to accept the offer from CMU today. I'm going to Carnegie Mellon!

Mt. Royal offered some additional funding…..have started to consider it against Carnegie Mellon…. Only a couple days left to decide.

I empathize and must admit this thread is very refreshing. Thank you for sharing. It's been the most stressful time, trying to decide between schools.

Pros and cons list is being made tomorrow…so yeah…down to the wire here as well.

222…Milkyways pretty much nailed it. You're right, it IS a great program! From what I understand there is ample funding in the city of Pittsburgh (and through the school) to do pretty much a great extent of work while there. One's work tends to be highly regarded and supported on many levels due to association with the CMU name. Having chances for it to be seen by the larger art community, if that's something you're after, seems like more of a challenge. But not an impossible one if you're tenacious.

What would be your primary reason/s, if you don't mind sharing.

MICA Mt Royal has offered me almost the same amount of funding as CMU. Which would you go with?

Congrats on acceptance! I have been having the hardest time determining whether I want to spend the next 3 years in P-burgh. The school seems wonderful though. Big decision.

Posted this in the Freakout as well-- Anyone accepted to Carnegie Mellon actually going?? I have done SO much research and very close to my decision.

Perhaps this is a q. for the Decisions topic, but is anyone else accepted to CMU actually going?

Lila: New York City? Me personally, I'd say NY, it may even out cost-wise. Depends on which place appeals to you most though.

Thanks Ismewilde for this great information. You seem very happy there and it's encouraging to hear. That's great that additional funding is out there for grabs. Are any or many of you still having to work full-time/ part-time while in the program? And would you say it pretty easy to find a good part-time job in P-bg?

Still can't decide on CMU. Think I may take the long drive to see it before I say "I do".

I've been accepted to Mount Royal and have been offered only 1/3 in spite of how much I was told program director Luca Buvoli loved my work. ;F

I think it's awesome to do design media arts at UCLA. I'm sure you can collab with departments and interact with art faculty somehow. I may still go to CMU, still undecided.
