I just got a status update on the NYU Albert page, with a scholarship of $8,000 and work study of $3,000. I haven't received any emails yet about looking over my appeal, or getting an email about my financial aid status, so I'm trusting that Brendon is right and that we'll hear back about appeals this week.
Congrats Opt! I did ask for an extension from Fordham and they gave me an additional month. They're very nice about it, so I wouldn't hesitate if I were you. Worst thing they can do is say no, but given how helpful they've been, I'm sure they will.
Received my financial aid info... unfortunately isn't nearly enough to make me consider attending. I received a "general" scholarship, but no work-study. I've submitted my FAFSA, so I'm not sure if that is what affects the amount I would receive for work-study?
I've all but locked down NYU. I'm still waiting on Columbia's financial aid package, and whether Hunter might give me an interview, but since I'll be living with relatives and NYU's financial aid package compared to Fordham's and Yeshiva's, it's a better program fit for me and was my first choice. The tuition still is pretty hefty, but I'm hoping that I'll get some work study and apply to more scholarships to help the costs.
