  1. Thanks, such a nerve wrecking time of the year, my birthday is in 2 weeks and everyone is asking what am doing for my birthday but I don't even care lol, nothing matters until I hear back
  2. congrats, so early. now my heart is in my throat
  3. Really the research course, grades, good statements and references which most are things people know. The only thing I think people don't think weigh a lot is the research course which is does. Think about it, the research course is one of the three requirement to qualify for the program. Therefore, it has a huge baring on your application in my opinion and she also said so when I went to see them at the social work department one day I was on campus
  4. I have heard of people but I heard it just makes your chances lower because they are more research based and they want to ensure you can do research. I am not a huge fan of grades determining ability because an individual may be very good at something but may not be able to perform on test. But it's not unheard of
  5. At UOfT ( am a current student) that's an A still A- to A+ is good. But anything under 80 is where they don't usually like to accept for the research course we were told
  6. It is true but most require a research course instead ( windsor wants both). For UofT for instance their masters program require you to have a research course with atleast a mid-b, however when I went to the information sessions she said usually you should have a A in a research course because that weighs a lot on your admission. Notice at Uoft one of the requirement on its own its to have a mid- b Ina research course so it matters a lot
  7. They already started sending out acceptance for the 2 year program at uoft??.am I seeing this correct. Congrats by the way
  8. Hun, trust me. I am just graduating in June this year and every summer our Rosi updates to say invited and then when we defer our fees and do all we are suppose to do then it says registered. so after you receive the letter in the mail and it instructs you what to do and you do it, then it will change to registered . I know what you mean though once you have the letter they can't take it back lolol. thank you by the way. I have also applied for a few post degree BSW because I know my GPA would probably be my hindrance.
  9. thanks for the response. The only reason I was thinking that is because the bell curve like crazy. Trust me when i Tell you coming out of UofT with a B+ is considered pretty good lol because it is so hard to get grades at UofT. But I made sure I did an outstanding application and got some really high ranking references and i have about 7 years of volunteer in some very reputable places so lets hope it works out in the end because I really want to get in
  10. Congrats, I am from UofT and whenever the new semester is upcoming it shows when it is and it says invited if you are clear to go. So you are in!!
  11. Hi Everyone, First time posting but long time reading. It so nerve wrecking waiting. I applied for the 2-year MSW at UofT. I have A lot of volunteer with the many of the Child Welfare Agencies and a few other organizations an OK GPA, I am really hoping my experience, personal statement and references out shine my GPA which is about 76. I was also wondering do the schools give priority to their students. I am from UofT so I was just wondering. Go luck to everyone. I really wish everyone the best. such a life changing time of the year.
