Oh no -
I'd go to TCU. Debt is no fun, and you can always do your CFY somewhere glamorous. Hawaii, Alaska, Las Vegas, D.C., etc. That being said, I'd be worried about how many job prospects I'd have outside of Texas graduating from a non-secular institution.

Got accepted to University of Louisville. I'm quite pleased, but it's way over my budget. Some out-of-state elsewhere would even be cheaper than in-state there. So I'll likely decline and hopefully open up a spot for someone already in that area. Cheers!

I got the same. They want a decision by next Friday. Was is 6 credits per semester, or for the whole academic year? A tuition waiver means you do not have to pay for those credits. Usually people with funding, such as RAs and TAs, get a stipend AND a tuition waiver. Sometimes it also means, any remaining fees owed will be at the in-state rate. But I am not sure about this for UND specifically. I'm going to check that out. Because that would be a great offer. It may be that they are only now telling us because they did not know how much funding they would be able to offer before, as the above poster's correspondence with her institution suggests. But still, those 5 courses I have to do before I actually start graduate coursework might still outweigh any offer from them for me.

Good luck Holly. Good luck Kellyyy. Fingers crossed. -
Yea, but funding is a privilege in this country, not a right. Unfortunately.

Wow. ASHA EdFind has been updated, and I really like the new style! Impressive.

This thread makes me nervous. Fingers crossed for everyone out there! -
Good for you for calling!

The language in the UND acceptance response is also a little troublesome. It almost sounds like a strong, legal commitment. I understand your concern

Congrats! SLC is one of my favorite cities. You'll love love love it.

No this is a great question! I'm sure there are many people wondering the same. I know I have. I just hadn't gotten around to asking yet. No question is a silly question, right? Thanks for asking. Hope someone knows the answer!

Good for you! That's the spirit!

That's weird. I'd rather go to UW-Eau Claire, wouldn't you? Your stats are great! It's their loss! -
I agree, there was one on here who applied 3 seasons, and finally got into an awesome school. UNM I think it was. There is always hope.
-
well, you're just a better person than me. that's just all there is to it.
-
Yea, call them tomorrow. I bet it's weird giving out rejections over the phone, so hopefully they have only good news! Only a psychopath would want to tell you you've been rejected over the phone! (This school is turning out to be so weird.)
-
Well, they held interviews last week. Mine was on Tuesday. This week, on Tuesday, I got a rejection letter. It looks like from the results page that most people who had interviews were waitlisted. Which makes you wonder whether they only interviewed the "maybes." But then their website says explicitly that their top ranked applicants will be invited to the interview round. So, it's a mystery. I was pretty surprised that with their apparent three-tiered waitlist, they didn't even have the decency to put me at the bottom after doing the interview. I take that as a flat out "No thank you." Lol.

Well, now I know the answer to this question, because I was rejected from Utah State University after my interview, which I take as quite an insult because I've heard they have a three-tiered waiting list. They could've at least done me the courtesy of putting me at the bottom after putting up with their affected voices and feigned positive responses to my answers! Well, at least I know they didn't like me at all. Truth is, I was just evicted from my cousin's house 3 days before (for literally trying to "mess" with the WiFi by extending it to my room with a hotspot) and I was pretty emotional. My head wasn't in the right place, but I still thought my interview went well. Surprising how that works out: Someone isn't the least bit impressed with you even though they act like they are to your face. What a weird country we live in. -

Yea, there must have been. I had different interviewers but same day. I'm so nervous about results. I'm having doubts about this program (well I'm having doubts about all of them), but I actually traveled to Spokane to check it out, and I'm here as we speak. Not willing to go to the campus yet, but the city and its surroundings look great! -

So what was the correct answer? -
It's Friday the 13th tomorrow. Any schools that send out bad news should be boycotted. By everyone.
-
Yea, that's so unfortunate, because I was so thrilled to receive the acceptance. 'Til I actually read the letter! Sounds like it was much the same for you.
-
Your stats are awesome. I can't believe you've been rejected by some of those schools.

Neuronparty, I had a thought. Maybe factoring in the cost of another application season is something to think about. $$ is important to me, but I also know I don't want to take 5 more classes. If you don't mind the coursework, maybe considering the cost of applying again is something you should factor in.
