  1. No idea. Someone on the google docs sheet got an email from their host country (Finland) so they're probably ready to go
  2. Welp, either way I'm flying out to Vegas tonight so I can celebrate if its good and not dwell if it's bad. Good luck, y'all - I know how much work each and every one of you put into your applications. As my academic adviser told me: "It's really f***ing hard to convince someone to give you tens of thousands of dollars*"
  3. At least it's a confirmation rather than speculation!
  4. Lol I had to go workout and put my phone down so I'd quit looking at it
  5. I've sort of moved on past from freaking out to being one with the chaos lol
  6. 100% I have personally gained so much from just going through this process. Even if I don't end up getting it, I would have been more upset at myself if I never took the long shot to go for the grant. In a way, it really solidified what I wanted to do for my future/career
  7. It's definitely a challenge to make it accessible to anyone reviewing it. I tried to think of mine in terms of weaving details into the work in such a way that anyone can relate to the types of experiences I'm researching. Maybe kind of like the way that Bill Nye can make science really cool and engaging, even if I'm never going to devote my life to it. But it was for sure intimidating when I did my campus committee interview and they had a professor in my exact field drilling me with questions about my proposal - it definitely helped put some things into perspective
  8. I won't mind next week since I'll be on vacation and time will fly anyways. But dang if I'm not checking my email every 20 minutes still
  9. For sure, but I'll just roll with the punches. I conveniently have a professional conference lined up at the end of March so my back up plan is just to find a job there I applied to a university in Scotland for research. I work closely with the international department on my current campus to mitigate communication barriers between nonnative speakers of English and student support staff, so I've been communicating with some faculty that do similar work over there. Where did you?
  10. I definitely feel this. If it's a yes on the first round I still can't really commit to a plan B or anything until March lol
  11. Hi all, I applied for Research in the UK. I had somehow managed to push the notification dates away from my mind until I remembered the other day lol. Now I've been checking every hour or so. Best of luck to y'all!
