  1. Just accepted SLU's offer as they gave me a deadline and I haven't heard back from WUSTL after being wait listed. Kinda bummed not to hear from WUSTL before deciding but I'm definitely excited about studying at SLU!
  2. If you haven't already, you should check out WUSTL's Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology program. Seems like a good fit for your interests, and an MA from GSU seems like it would be attractive to the admissions committee there.
  3. I'll be going to WUSTL or SLU, so if you're headed to either (or UMSTL) feel free to send me a PM. I'd love to connect with anyone who's gonna be in the St Louis philosophical community!
  4. I'm waiting on WashU in St Louis. I don't even have a clear idea of where I stand because the wait list is unranked and they want to preserve a diversity of interests, so that's a bit stressful. The DGS told me my chances were very good and that she expects that I'll get an offer eventually, so I'm thinking that means the probability is somewhere over 0.5 and I'm trying to take comfort in that. But the wait is really terrible.
  5. I should clarify. By "really wanted" I did not mean to imply that they don't want everyone they accept or wait list. I'm sure if they extend admission or a spot on the wait list to an applicant, then they would be very happy to have that applicant. I just meant someone who was probably one of the first people they decided to accept.
  6. Here's to a lovely visit at UNC then! In all seriousness though, make your decision in your own time and don't let pressure from wait listers like me rush you. And congrats on your acceptances, that's pretty impressive!
  7. Anyone planning on turning down an offer from WUSTL?
  8. If you still haven't been offered acceptance, here's two pieces of news you might appreciate: 1) Last year Baylor accepted half of the people on their waitlist and 2) One of the students Baylor really wanted this year was accepted at MIT. Source: I'm a Baylor alum taking a gap year and I'm sitting in on a class with a professor on the admissions committee. He mentioned (1) and (2) in class Tuesday.
