I was also quite disappointed by Harvard's offer. Even Stanford seems to have a much more generous financial aid program - I got offered full tuition there for a dual degree program (2 years) and only $20,000 in loans at Harvard. I currently make less than 10K a year, but like someone else said, I don't have any loans from undergrad. I was more interested in Harvard than Stanford when I started the application process, but after funding decisions and campus visits, I'm completely on the Stanford train.

Any idea when we should get information about funding? Stanford's got a pretty generous offer on the table that I can't really imagine passing up...

Hi, I'm in a similar position- most of my work has been international, which does seem like it could count against us...who knows! Either way, we should find out soon!

Ee I'm so nervous! I think the thing that makes this the most stressful for me is that they don't notify the people who aren't invited for an interview. It's almost like getting ghosted by Harvard after a bad first date.

I agree this is the most likely date, but I think I'm still gonna be nervously attached to my email for the next 10 days or so!

Hey! I also applied to the Ed.L.D. My GRE scores were pretty good, but I'm still pretty young for the program, so not too optimistic... Good luck though! Not too long to wait, now!
  7. What confuses me about this is the differing policies between CLS and Fulbright. I did CLS last summer and we were able to travel afterwards or remain in the host country, and only had to pay the ticket-change fees (which were usually $200-$300). Since that's also public money being spent on a purely educational program, I don't see why Fulbright doesn't have this policy. Granted, I actually went straight home after CLS since school was going to start for me, but I know quite a few of my friends stayed.
  8. Hi, so I'm Eurasia, and we were told that the grant authorization documents wouldn't be sent to us until mid-May most likely. So, I wouldn't worry too much!
  9. I'm having a similar issue. I have been on my parents insurance, but my dad left the job, and we won't have insurance anymore. So, my family has been planning on just letting me use the Fulbright insurance. I'm pretty lost here too, basically. Also, for those who were accepted, how long was it between receiving the email and receiving the letter in the mail?
  10. Accepted to Azerbaijan!! The email came at 8AM EST, so it could happen at any time.
  11. It's been so quiet all week! This should be the most intense notification period!
  12. I was NOT expecting anyone from Eurasia to hear back for at least 2 more weeks! Until now I figured I wouldn't really start to freak out until April 20th or so...
  13. Congrats to all of the newly minted UK Fulbrighters! Now that they've announced, what are the other countries with large cohorts who we're waiting on? I know Malaysia and maybe Brazil?
  14. So...do y'all think we should get a lot of notifications today? My country likely won't notify for at least two or three more weeks, but the wait is a lot easier when I see y'all getting good news.
  15. Azerbaijan. Did you apply for an ETA or research? I'm kinda assuming we've got about a month before we hear anything still.
