  1. I just got the email too and feel the same way. I just can't see myself going there, and really don't understand the appeal of the program.
  2. Congrats! I have to say that I find this so funny. This, on top of the many email mistakes, obvious typos in their official correspondence and strange administrative practices. If I hadn't met Sarah myself, I'd assume that their admissions department was being run by a shoebox of psychotic hamsters.
  3. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who has doubts. Can I ask you what specific criticisms you've heard about Hunter? I'm finding it hard to find them exciting. Someone here got accepted to Upenn and is very excited about it - @AKW94 was that you?
  4. I interviewed at Hunter, but I found the process off-putting. At other schools, the people who interviewed me were already familiar with my work, and had questions that pertained directly to what I am doing. Being in front of people who were looking at my work for the first time (who also do not work with my discipline) felt more like a pitch. Overall, I didn't find it very impressive.
  5. What did you think of the bard and hunter interview processes? Wait list is just waiting! If you have contact info for your interviewers or your dept head, it doesn't hurt to write and email restating your interest in the program.
  6. What does your slideroom say? Has your Columbia (non slideroom) page changed?
  7. Hi all, Since we'll all be twiddling our thumbs over the long weekend, I thought I'd remind everyone to please log your activity in the Results Survey. Next year's applicants will thank you!
  8. It's possible, but unlikely that there will be snow in the first week of March, unless you're talking about going up to Vermont or Maine. Usually the weather in NYC/Boston is in the low 40s around that time, though you won't know what you're in for until a few days before. Don't bother buying gear. At most, make sure you have wool socks and warmish footwear (as in, no Converse). Go ahead and buy long underwear if you're planning on wearing jeans or slacks all weekend. You might not even need them, so don't spend money just because you're freaked out! Bringing a good sweater will let you get away with whatever jacket/coat you have. In general, layering is your friend, so as long as you have long sleeve tshirts to wear under your clothes, you should be fine!
  9. No, but someone posted their result to the survey. Hopefully they are rolling out department by department like most other schools seem to do.
  10. NYU just extended their deadline to February 12th.
  11. Hi all, I just noticed that Bard updated their calendar to say that they are sending interview status emails on February 12th, and not this week as was previously stated.
  12. Hunter, Columbia and NYU definitely host interviews - I'm not sure about the rest.
