Yes U of R Com Ling is a new program(they now offer three MA/MS programs, general linguistics, language documentation and computational linguistics).
As far as I know, they currently have one MA student in this CL program.
Also, although it's a joint program, the linguistics department is the "host"/"home" department. So, it's more linguistics directed.. I think.

Has anyone heard back from Maryland?
I had an informal interview with POI, but no feedback since then. I saw someone was invited to the Open House last week. I guess it's not the good news to me.

I think 2/3 BCS and 1/3 Linguistics or half-half will be a better choice. By the way, according to their website, you have to choose BSC as your "home" department. Right?
