  1. Do you have conflicts on all three weekends? Haha
  2. Maybe they didn't realize you resided in the US, you should ask though lol Congrats!
  3. When I applied, they had already sent out invites by today. I think it was like the 9th.
  4. I would not do that, but that's up to you. Not having a card will make you look more confident, just know your stuff.
  5. It won't actually be unprofessional but you want your interview to be conversational rather than scripted. It will be much less stressful this way, and most likely even more enjoyable.
  6. The people you interview have nothing to do with who you rotate with, or who's taking students. It could just be that they had other things to tend to.
  7. Historically, I believe the post-interview acceptance rate is greater than 80%.
  8. It is very likely that Penn CAMB interview invites are all out. The invites were sent before Christmas.
  9. Not really lol This is fairly commom during interviews.
  10. Maybe they're an outlier; however, I was under the impression that each department within biosciences acts independently of each other, so they don't have to follow those guidelines strictly. A couple people have posted getting Stanford invites before today.
  11. I think @inadequate got Stanford Biochem in December.
  12. Based on the result thread, most interview invites are offered during mid January. If it's similar to undergrad, then I guess the time they take to get back to you is contigent upon when you submitted your app. I really liked Purdue, so don't hesitate to ask me questions, if any!
  13. Which Purdue program did you apply to? PS. As a Purdue graduate, I was trying to be helpful @kevinrhinoceros
  14. Some grants will cover a fraction of your tuition (i.e NSF), but there's typically many benefits besides that.
  15. That depends on the school, I think. In my program, the program pays for your tuition and stipend during the first two years. After that, your PI starts paying for your stipend, the university keeps paying for your tuition till you are done. Getting an NIH grant will usually increase your stipend. Who pays what doesn't really matter because it's the university's responsibility to maintain your funding. You should never be in a spot where you have to pay or get a pay decrease.
  16. I was basing my comment on the fact that the result thread doesn't have a lot of information of people applying.
  17. I don't think many people on gradcafe apply to UChicago Cancer, so the results thread doesn't have a lot of info. However, based on my experience with the program, they send invites on December.
  18. Based on what my friends at Harvard say, it's above 80%.
  19. I was in your exact same position and schools really didn't care about having you fly to another airport that is not your home airport.
  20. I think it should be fine I don't think scheduling agencies will question why you're leaving a day or two later.
  21. I think UPenn is done, dunno about the other ones.
  22. It'll be fine. Some schools literally sent my schedule a day or two before the interview lol
  23. They usually don't ask why you are flying to X place at X date, but just make sure you don't tell them it's for sightseeing if they do lol
