  1. I believe someone has already asked this earlier but didn't see an answer. Has anyone asked U of T how many people are on the waiting list for the advanced standing program? :/
  2. I think the choice really depends on your financial need and/or desire for that specific program/school; the "worth" of pursuing masters for all schools varies for each individial. Also, I agree with MSW-UofT, and I would also like to add that Windsor has great funding as well.
  3. It means that it's a conditional acceptance. If you fulfill the requirement, you will be admitted to the program For UWindsor, for example, it says "provisional acceptance" on mine. They require that I pass this semester and obtain my BSW degree in order for them to admit me into their MSW program. Hope this helps!
  4. I got my letter from U of T today that I'm on the waitlist. Good luck to those who are still waiting for acceptance letters and congrats to those who have been accepted!
  5. I have it written down at home, but if I remember correctly, 350 people applied last year and 100 people were accepted.
  6. Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for sharing the information! I guess 2nd wave will go out next week then.
  7. Yes, this is for the Advanced Standing program. The 2 year applicants started hearing back in mid-March Good luck!
  8. The 2nd wave will go out either next Monday or Tuesday, and the 3rd wave will go out the following week according to the last year's forum. So, we should find out within 2 weeks max.! Someone said that some people received rejection letters via mail the same time that the 1st wave of acceptance letters went out last year. Let's not lose our hope just yet!
  9. I feel super nervous since mine still says "under review" as well. Best of luck to the both of us!
  10. If it was by mail, which city does your friend live in?! Gahhh!
  11. Thank you, xonive! Yes, I applied to the advanced standing program. I hope you hear back soon too!!
  12. Just received an email from the University of Windsor that I've been accepted as well. @andwewait Congrats!
  13. Hmm.. I'm honestly not sure how they would calculate your GPA if you have your MA, but I think they would look at your last two years of your graduate studies since they are the most recent marks you have received.
  14. Hi Kosta, U of T only looks at your senior level courses' grades (300 & 400 levels). When I was at the info session, they said that applicants of 2015's average ranged from B+ ~ A-. So grade-wise, I definitely think you have a chance! You are able to submit an updated transcript to them once this semester's final grade comes out; I think it's best that you do so in this case They said this themselves, so I'm certain they will look at it! My opinion is that although you lack some experience in other areas, if your SOP, research course's grade, and recommendation letters are good, it might balance your application out. Also, you have a lot of work hours that are related to social service, which is awesome. So yes, I think you do have a chance, but hey what do I know? haha I hope this helps a little bit! Good luck!
  15. When I was at the info session, they said that they only look at hours that you have completed so far regardless of how many hours you will have by the end of next year. So, you don't need to include the projected hours.
  16. Wow, that's awesome! Cutting 200 words must have been hard! I guess I should cut back too.. better safe than sorry :S
