  1. A tad bit tangential to this, UChicago has another course -Masters in Computational Social Science which kicked off this year. It being relatively new, you might have heightened chances of going through! Also 152 seems ok enough. Write a convincing SOP.
  2. Hi, Can anyone tell me how bad would it be if I have to walk a mile in Chicago winters? (everyone I have spoken too have warned me enough about the harsh winter). I am looking for places close to UChicago and trying to narrow things down.
  3. Anyone from India headed to UChicago this fall?
  4. Is Chicago not a good place to live in?
  5. @rack_attack124 MA in Computational Social Science
  6. @rack_attack124Ok. I applied to University of Chicago as well.
  7. Has anyone rejected QMSS offer? What has been your considerations for rejection? (I am deciding myself, so others opinions/ deliberations would be a great help) Thanks for your time.
  8. @juilletmercredi Thank you for the inputs! Its a relief to know that the program being a new one doesn't matter much.
  9. @johnnycomelately Yes, Chicago offered two-third funding.
  10. Hello, I have been accepted to the MA in Computational Social Science at University of Chicago and MA in QMSS at Columbia. I am inclined towards Chicago as it is more and flexible spread over 2 years. Its only downside being this is the first year the program has been offered. I am not sure what I want to do in future, but it would be either a Phd in decision sciences or an analyst at an organisation like United Nations Global Pulse. I have no working background in programming or databases, only Coursera-certified knowledge in Python, R, SQL. If anyone can advice me on which one is more logical to pursue, that would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time.
