Sure I will still do the interview, as the school is better than my first(until now) admit. I have like 5 more hours to clear my mind and prepare for it. My first admit has sent a lot of emails to me, from different people. mostly for congratulation and inquiry for any question I may have. Is it impolite to reply to the email 2-3 days later? I do not want to repeat that I will consider that school and inform them later, because I have already done so. I just want to think of something to ask and make the conversation more beneficial.

I received an email yesterday for an interview through skype in the evening today. However, I just feel so-so about participating in the interview. What is wrong with me, as this school is very good? May be I am just too tired waiting for results from other schools before this interview offer comes up. And today is Thursday. One more day before the end of Februgatory.

I really do not pay attention to spring break/ midterm season. Those may be the reasons too. Thank you for your reminder!

no response to post-interview 'thank you' email
iloveOM replied to didion10's topic in Psychology Forum
It depends on personality of the professors I think. Out of my 4 thank you email after interviews: 1. Quick response, told me that I could expect to receive my result within 2-3 weeks. It has been over 1 month, no news until now. 2. No response. I got admitted 10 days later. 3+4. No response. No result until now (about 2 weeks ago) So no response/ response for your thank you letter really says nothing about your chance of admission, from my experience. -
I had my interview one month ago (Jan 21st) and I was told to expect my result within 2-3 weeks, by the professors who did my interview. However, I have received no news until now. On Monday (Feb 22nd), I sent an email to the Phd program to ask about my status, still no response. Should I wait more or write an email to the professor who did my interview? I have had one offer already; however this school is better than my first offer. I really appreciate if anyone can give some idea. Thanks a lot.

Enjoy your new phase of life and good luck!

You have a really high chance! I wish you will get it , even though you may need to wait some more days. I wanted to apply for Drexel at first, but when I saw its requirement that my undergrad transcript needs to be translated by WES, I flee. This is the only school I know that requires WES or similar translation service in US for PhD application.

Now you dont have to pay any mentally waiting cost to Cornell anymore When do you begin to start packaging to BGSU? In my view, I think you are in. There is no reason that POI sent out that email when he/she was not sure about your admission. "Unconfirmed and unofficial " may relates to paperwork,I guess.

What time is it at your time zone? Mine is 4:30 am... can not sleep

Welcome to Ithaca =) You will need a lot of warm clothes Wednesday has arrived!

I think what you understand is correct. The program accepts you but does not give you financial aid. Anyway, congratulation for your first admit. Even it has no funding, this is still a lot better than a rejection.
-
Just curious, which one do you choose of out 12?
-
Congratulation! Feeling relieved, right

One of my program said that I can expect to get a result within 2-3 weeks after my interview. It has been a little bit over 1 month, so I sent an email yesterday to ask about my status. No respond until now. So if you think you have waited long enough, sending one email will not harm. If you get accepted, you will know it. If you get waitlisted, you will know it. If you get rejected, you can skip paying mental cost to that school. If they are still considering, they will tell you. But you should expect that they may not reply that email, as I have heard in some cases in this forum ( and myself too).

This week will be the longest week ever in Februgatory.

What were you doing when you received your acceptance?
iloveOM replied to YA_RLY's topic in Waiting it Out
I got my email after morning email check. I think that it is healthier to receive admission offer in the morning, because you will have good mood the whole day, eat out to celebrate, no more junk food bla bla. Other time? Ahh... As in the evening, people can hardly go to sleep -
Good for you to have sunshine Actually we have a lot of sunshine here, and this is the first time we have rain for about 4-5 months. Want to swap place? I have to admit that I love sleeping/playing video game while it is raining outside. I am single, so the stress is less than yours. Good luck man! Who know what will happen with admission? Sometime you think you are denied, and then one day you wake up with admission letter in your inbox
-
So schools do not usually provide funds in your field, and you have to wait for external fund source to decide whether to go or not? If yes, good luck man. It is raining, and I do not want to go to school in this weather
-
@Neist Do you plan to write to Cornell? I sent my email yesterday to ask my status at UIC ( where I did interview one month ago) and then no reply until now. Time to wait haizz...
-
Congratulation and good luck with the nomination! I just saw an admission to my " super duper" reach on the result page. He/she got it on Friday last week. That school only accepted 3 people last year, and usually not more than that. Panic mode kicks in .....
-
I had my interview exactly one month ago, and I was told to expect result within 2-3 weeks. Still no news now about that application. Therefore, I sent an email to ask about my admission status this morning lol... If you have waited long enough, I think you should think of emailing them.
-
May be, but I think the chance is quite small in this forum.
-
Enjoy the dilemma of having too many admission offers Awesome So it means that you will work with that professor if you accept Boulder?
-
I think that if they can't contact you by phone after some tries, they will send the email.
-
You will be fine! Just drink on Friday night, and you will fly to the sky ....
