Aah okay.So if an Oxbridge student applies to any of the Ivy Leagues would he/she stand a good chance?How would he/she fare in comparison to an Ivy League applicant? I know I'm asking too many questions

Does that mean not hearing anything until Feb is a good sign?Why is it so?

I have two questions- 1.How do most American universities view an Oxbridge education? 2.Are they considered to be on par with the Ivy Leagues?

I have also applied to a PhD program at Rutgers.I wanted to know if Rutgers is very emphatic about good GRE.This is because I have terrible GRE scores and do not wish to take it again as I am not good with standardised tests.I have good academics & GPAs and those are the only things I am relying on right now.Any advice?

Wow!I actually felt like I was already reading your personal statement here! I don't see how the GPA could mar your chances.I think you will stand a mighty good chance.Kinda get inspired when I see how hard people have worked to get where they have.Good luck to you! I don't think that would necessarily mean anything negative.I had the same response.It definitely doesn't mean you have been rejected.Do not worry and you will soon hear something from them. Good luck!

Every night I go to sleep hoping to have received some kind of intimation or news from the university.But every morning its the same tale.No mails I think for me the wait is also going to be agonisingly longer since I handed in my transcripts late...

I totally understand you're in a difficult situation right now.Why don't you try and apply for more schools?Why put all your eggs in one basket?It's always safe that way. Good luck!

Yes even I heard that some Professors & admissions committee members check applicants' profiles 'out of curiosity' or for a cross-check.If you're uncomfortable with that you could always secure your profile using the 'privacy settings'.
