Okay, this is getting out of hand and it was not my intent to start a fight. We're all friends here, so in the future - just a suggestion - personal offenses should be addressed privately and not in the forum.

If you had an issue with it, the kindest response would have been to address it to the individual via PM and given them the option to edit the post, rather than publically shaming them. THAT says something about YOU.

Whoops, my mistake - I searched "Penn Sociology" and a couple of Penn States popped up in the middle. Looks like there are 3 admits.

Looks like Penn admits will be finished after today. I'm counting 5 on the board. :*(

Oh man, Vandy is the last of my top 4 - and I'm pretty certain I didn't get into the others. Fingers crossed and my phone is set at full volume and within grasp.

FYI - here's the message that I received from Northeastern, in response to my emailed status request... " Thank you for reaching out about your PhD application! The Admissions Committee is currently reviewing all Fall 2016 applications and will be finalizing their decisions within the next few weeks. We have not extended any offers yet. "

I feel your pain. I completely bombed the math portion. I'm doubtful that I'll get an acceptance this season, but my plan is to get a math tutor, kick ass on the GRE retake, get a couple of papers published, and try again in the fall.

Congrats to the CUNY admit

Thanks. I sincerely hope so. Starting to get a bit depressed over the silence from the schools that I applied to. I've gained about 4 pounds in the last two weeks from stress eating junk food. My waistline will weep in gratitude it if I get some responses this week.

If you make it to our list of candidates for admission (we do not make offers immediately, but choose candidates and invite them to come to visit us), you will know by mid-February. We notify most rejections by late February, but we keep a lot of people in limbo for a while, because you never know."
