When your phone *dings*, indicating a new email, and you trip over your own feet in a mad dash to check for an admission notice and bang your funnybone against your desk...then find out it was just junk mail. *SMH!*

Just received an email from one of my professors, asking me to be her TA again this semester. YAY! My favorite professor by far and so easy to work with. Nice to have a little bit of good news amidst this gloom of non-activity on the admissions end of things. Also doesn't hurt to have the modest extra income.

Most of the rejections I've seen posted occurred within 2 weeks of the acceptances.

Usually all acceptances are over 1-2 days...at least, that's been the trend the past few years

Thank you, and I didn't think that was too cheesy. Its nice to see so many people celebrating one another, even when we may be competing for spots at the same schools.

Just emailed to ask if all Harvard offers have been made. Will post an update if/when I receive a reply.

Some schools will waive the app fee if you have a high GPA, are an Americorps/Peacecorps alumn, or can demonstrate a financial need. Vanderbilt's sociology app is free to all, but because of my GPA and Americorps experience, Northeastern and Brown both waived my app fees. I've heard that Brandeis and U of Minnesota are also both very accommodating with fee waivers.

Since BC is already wait-listing, I'm assuming they've already made their offers of admission....My app doesn't actually show what my status is. Just lists the completed app requirements.

If I don't receive a call/email by noon tomorrow, I'll give them a ring. I applied to 8 schools and not a peep from a single one. Even if its a reject, I'd like to have some kind of news tomorrow. Might help to curb this anxiety-induced cookie binge I've been on...or tick me off enough to get in an angsty-awesome workout.

For Sociology- exactly in the order you listed: BC, BU, then NEU

I just had a missed call from an unrecognized New Jersey number, didn't apply to anywhere in Jersey but called it back and got a "no voicemail setup message". Then looked at TGC and saw Harvard admits!!! I'm still just showing as "submitted" on their page. Those who got the admits- which area code where your calls from. Don't want to get my hopes up, but wishful thinking it was a call from one of my POIs.

Aside from my crap Quant score, primary reason I'm stressing so hard over these app decisions - I admitted to having been a Wanderlust as an undergrad, in my SOP. It was my explanation for why I bounced from Anthropology major to Museum Studies to 16th Century British Literature to Communications. lol. Probably shot myself in the foot there....

Can anyone claim the Brown admit from last night? Last I checked, the highest possible score on each section of the GRE is 170, with total points possible being 340. The post shows GRE scores as 191/169/5.00. Typo, maybe?

I just saw that too and immediately checked my app status. Still only showing as "submitted".

I haven't heard anything from BC yet and no update on my app status. Worried because they only just received my GRE scores last week.

Yes, I live in Boston. I love New England and don't really want to move, so hoping a local school will accept me. I go to RI fairly often to visit family there, so count me in for that GradCafe Cohort meeting. I've never tried Iggy's fried clams- new item on my foodie bucket list!

Since you'll be kicking it in Providence....mind sending the rest of us each a sack of Iggy's doughboys? Pretty pretty pleeeeasse.
