I'm still on an air mattress and might get a real one in the next few months. I'm actually not sure if I should just wait until I move by myself next year to get one. Also, powerlifting team starts soon i think! I'm really excited! I think I'll be a super baby beginner, though!

@Need Coffee in an IV she was def awake. i asked her what she needed and she said "nothing. i just heard you were awake." she could have stayed in her room since she didn't do anything but stand there and then go right back. it was just odd. So I'm compiling months worth of data in excel. my brain is melting!

@Effloresce It'd be less weird if we were good friends, but we've only been living together a little under 2 months. I think she's just trying to force a friendship and I don't like that. I'm sure this is going to be an instance where I like her more when I don't live with her. HOW EXCITING! By the end of August will everyone be at their respective schools? THE FINAL STRETCH!

@MarineBluePsy youre at penn state right? Layout awkward how? Im doing recon on other places to li e for next year. My apartment has baseboard heat so its weird nit being able to put things right up on the wall.

My parents just left with my dog. He jumped in the car and snuggled in. Now im just clutching the dog bone he left. It's so quiet and lonely without him. But he looked happy as a clam to leave so i cant be mad! I'll see him when i go home and hopefully bring him back next year!

I also don't really like my dog with her dog. She's pushy and stressful. I'm positive it's going to come out that my dog wasn't the problem, but if he's welcome with my parents, i'd rather he be where he can be an only dog and comfortable.

Yeah. I'm realizing it's for the best. I'll also be able to find a place with less stairs for his poor old man hips. I ordered a bike on sale from walmart and it arrived today! But as I was putting it together, I noticed some bolts were missing. Luckily, I bought the $7 warranty for it, so i put a claim in online and they refunded me the money for the bike! I thought they would just send me the missing bolts!! So that's my silver lining of the day!

I started working 2 weeks after i moved here. Its been nice. My project will be out of the organizing stage by time school starts hopefully

Yeah. Luckily my parents kind of wanted him back. That gives me time to figure out my schedule and find a good place for us. But now im with my roommate for literally no reason (except to save money). So youre gonna do bus pass? Leaning more toward bus pass?

Update: my parents want him back. So he's gonna go home until i move next year.

@MarineBluePsy This has definitely solidified my desire to move at the end of the lease. I love my apartment and the complex but for my dog's sake, i need to find something with fewer neighbors to annoy. I'm seriously looking into renting a house now. Also, i think he needs to be an only dog. My roommate says he gets vocal when he hears her and her dog through my door. I just... have to fix this.

@MarineBluePsy i dont think my car was scratched on purpose, but it's still annoying. I dont know what I'm going to do. It's not a frequent thing bc he mostlysleeps when im gone. Maybe he saw something. Ive set up a skype account so i can check in on him throughout the day. It's more frustrating bc we havent been here long so of course he might still be anxious. And there are other dogs that bark, so why haven't they been reported (to my knowledge)?

today was going great UNTIL... a neighbor called the cops while my roommate and i were gone bc of dog barking. I'm working on my dog's barking issue, but he has some serious seperation anxiety and we've only been here not even 1.5 months. If i can't get this under control, he might have to go back home. and my effing car got scratched

I'm currently doing all of my school work on a PC and have my old mac laptop at home. For what I'm doing there isn't much difference. UNless you're using a pc/mac specific program it shouldnt matter. i think i prefer macs a little better though bc they feel less cluttered. Penn State is a Pokemon hotbed! 'm playing a little bit but it's mostly when i walk my dog-- the longer ones on the weekend. My project has officially started. We just ordered some supplies to test out and I'm typing up my participant info packet. I'm trying to be super organized and I think it's helping. But if anyone has any tips, let me know! I'm so glad I got to bring my dog. He smells like cornchips though.

Side note: air mattresses are so nice now! Ive been on one for about a month and i sleep so well on it. My sheets keep coming off though bc the matress is too tall for them.

I try to tip 15 to 20 percent if i can. I try to give at least a dollar or two if my bill is small. Im trying this new thing where i dont equate stress with success bc i dont want to burn out. So far its helping. If i knew everything and was perfect, i woyldnt be in grad school!

@MarineBluePsy That's unfortunate. A lot of my fave lab members are graduating soon too. So far I really like 2 people in my cohort that are here early. I'm hoping for at least 2 more. I'm thinking looking outside of my cohort will be best. Friends in other departments will be nice to get away from work/lab.

I've never done air bnb myself, but I have a friend who rents out her living room pretty often. I think it's more of vetting the person you're renting from. You can change the settings so you only get a certain gender and a certain approval rating if that helps.

Ive made pretty good friends with my lab. We went to a firefly festival over the weekend and drank a ton of beer. It was glorious- i even took my dog. My roommate and i are getting along a little better, i still think im gonna move in a year tho. Im trying to find the hutzpa to go whitewater rafting through the school. Maybe i should do paddleboarding first

I was just about to ask how that was going to work?! Maybe nothing to your visa, but itll def make travel to other EU countries more difficult right? If UK is out is Germany next? How will the EU survive without thise major economies? BUT it has made plane tickets there very cheap!
