I know i am in the midst of exams and assignments and I am so distracted by this. One part of me is hopeful while the other is like LOL you have no chance haha... I am so ready to plan my life though...I think the fact that no one is on here being like "I GOT IN TO LAURIER" is a good sign haha...

Megan from laurier said the faculty is hoping to have ALL decisions sent out in the next few days!! What does this meaaan!! haha tomorrow is friday... so maybe tomorrow.... monday tuesday? Has anyone heard anything? she didn't really indicate if they had already started to send them out

Hey thank you!! I actually went and spoke to one of the coordinators at Waterloo and they seem so nice and caring!! The program is super small and they work really hard to find you a great placement! (also a great place to get good references I assume, that relate to the field of social work) What do you see as the pros to taking a bsw? I am just trying to weigh the pros and cons!

I have been accepted to Waterloo for a 1.5 year BSW program. I am feeling a little down about likely being rejected by Laurier ( I know I should be positive, but its hard sometimes haha) Can anyone share some experiences of studying social work in a BSW? Was it worth the experience? Did you feel you gained from it? Honestly, social work is my path, I am in love with everything about the career. I want to learn more about it, so I am pretty confident that I will accept this offer if I get declined from Laurier. But just wanted some feedback

I don't want to be a downer Samsat but mine says the same... and it has for months! Is this a new occurrence on your page? from what I have heard, they update that page with the references on it, it will no longer have references it will just have an acceptance letter

UGH, well it is allot of hours... I am glad you know people who got in without such an abundance of hours. I am not hopeful for Laurier because I know how competitive the program is and I think that my professional references could have been stronger If this does not work out, I will likely be attending UW for the BSW program. They offer a great practicum experience and also I would like to get an academic reference who is in the field. Abroad seems like a great plan!! I am not brave enough for that right now haha! But it would definitely make you stand out in terms of experience if you have to apply again !

amazzzing!!! NEXT WEEK IT IS. My heart just jumped! I think your background is wonderful and interesting. I think that is benefit for two year programs, they will get students from diverse backgrounds which means that they will get different types of social workers. I am so excited to stop speculating and just know my fate haha! Did you e-mail them?

SamSat, I am hoping for both of us!! Waiting is awful. What is your experience like if you don't mind me asking! I could only get 3400 hours before the time of application!! So i'm not feeling overly confident this year!!

Hey, sorry I keep asking.. I just really hope this works out for you! Waterloo told me that they only put people they really liked on the waiting list and who they wished they could accept. There is still a chance for this year and if not, work for a year with your BSW! I have been looking online and there are allot of great jobs for those with BSWs. I know you want this, like we all do. But on the bright side you are almost a SOCIAL WORKER! congrats! IS there a part time msw that they would consider you for? Best wishes and happy easter ( my easter this year is just me -studying haha)
