  1. My website is a bit of a work in progress but- www.shannonstovall.com My Instagram is @shanstovall
  2. Hey everyone! I am trying to weigh my options for the *possibility* of me having to choose between these two schools for my MFA in painting and was wondering if anyone has any outside input? Of course financial aid will help with the decision, or if I even get into both (ha!)- but I haven't been able to visit either campus or see either's studios etc... I haven't been able to find much online weirdly? Any info will help! Thanks!
  3. Ohhhhh silly me. I submitted mine later than that. That makes sense!
  4. @meghanmetier you were already interviewed and accepted for painting with Pratt?? I didn't get my interview until today... hmmmmm so many questions haha
  5. I just finished my Pratt interview for Painting and I think it went really well! I had interviews with SVA and Pratt, and now my fate is in their hands. I honestly don't know which one I would choose if I had the option. Of course I will wait and see if there is any financial help with either (which will help choose)... is there anyone else who applied to both for painting?
  6. Hey guys, I applied last year to a handful of MFA programs across the country. My plans did not go as expected, (I either got rejected, or chose not to take the wait list position) so I am reapplying this year. I will be reapplying to 2 of the same schools I applied last year (Columbia and SVA) and I am concerned because honestly I don't feel like my statement of purpose has changed at all. I'm still working with the same themes, same ideas, same imagery. I have some new work which is good, but how important is it to have a new statement? Is it a faux pas to use the same one? I may tweak it a tad but not enough for it to be different? Any input is helpful, thank you!
  7. I still haven't heard back from SAIC and the interview was a month ago. Should I assume rejection? Is anyone else in this boat?
  8. Damn, really? That was the only school I felt confident about getting into! Maybe I still have a chance? ugh...
  9. Anyone apply to SVA? I feel like no one on this forum has?
  10. I'm in the same boat with Hunter and Columbia. It's hard to stay positive!
  11. For painting there are interviews on both the 27th and 28th, so I am assuming they are doing the same for sculpture? Not sure!
  12. Do you remember any questions they asked that stood out to you? Maybe one you wished you were better prepared for? I'm sure they ask different questions, but you never know!
  13. That's super helpful, thanks. Do you think detail shots are a bad idea? How many photographic images did you bring?
  14. Hey- I have a question for anyone who is going to Chicago for their SAIC interview in painting. All of my paintings are too large to transport, so I will be bringing some photographic images in a nice portfolio. However, they said they will be projecting your portfolio while you speak to them... Don't you think having the same images printed out is a bit redundant? Should I just print out detail shots? I'm so confused about what I should bring! Please help!
  15. Yeah, I have no idea. Mine just says 2016 Painting... but I guess I'll find out eventually.
  16. I'm waiting on SVA too. Also Hunter and Columbia- anyone know when they sent them out last year?
  17. Jeez. I just found out that I got an interview for SAIC and totally jumped the gun and already purchased my tickets to fly in for the weekend of 27-28th. I should have waited to find out about Yale. Seriously kicking myself!!!
