Sure, explore the idea. Consider both sides. Give it a fair treatment. And if one side falls apart as dreadfully damaging and discriminatory to half the population, make no further attempt to defend it. An idea which has been demonstrated a failure robustly deserves no defense.

Still haven't heard back from anyone except UCSD, which was a reject. I've gone down the rabbit hole and now think that I've been rejected from everywhere since Toronto has sent out acceptances and Davis seems to have sent out a few.
This process is quite unpleasant for my mental health.
