  1. My brother paid $500 for first year, second year was free, graduated last year from SFSU with MS in Biomedical Science (Biology Dept) He was getting grants from SFSU. Many of his friends paid $1000 a year or nothing. Everybody were working in lab at UCSF, Stanford or in industry .
  2. If you are in grad program at SFSU, it is very easy to graduate with MS in 2 years. All classes are reserve for you in Biology Department. If you are CA resident, it is almost free for you. You will have a lot of time to volunteer at UCSF (San Francisco - Mission Bay) or Stanford (Palo Alto). - many friends at SFSU At UCSD too many students are working in research, so it will be very hard for you, to be recognized outside. Only grad students can do their own projects. Usually, they pay only $10.50/h., but rent in La Jolla is very expensive. I am graduating this year from UCSD in Mechanical Engineering. (GPA=4.00; 2 years in lab; rejected from Stanford, MIT, Caltech; UCSD no respond; accepted to UCB)
  3. As today, April 22, 2016, I still didn't have any news from UCSD. I applied to PhD in Mechanical Engineering, got my BS from UCSD with GPA=4.00. It was my safety school, I don't plan to go to UCSD any more, but at least I should be informed about my rejection. I accepted UC Berkeley - MS/PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
  4. I got to UC Berkeley (Mechanical Engineering MS/PhD) without funding too. My UGPA=4.00, GRE Q=168, so I can't improve anything to apply next year. However, I am CA resident, so I hope that I will get something. If not, I walk away with MS degree from UCB. How many people got to UCB Mechanical Engineering without funding? (50%, 80%.....) I have a hope that I get something (TA, RA, or tuition waiver)
  5. Waiting for Caltech & UCSD
  6. I am still waiting for Caltech and UCSD. Am I alone? I got to UC Berkeley only but without funding
