I am beginning my search for schools and programs and wanted to see if you all could help me out. I would like my research to focus on Nazi occupation of Norway, the nation's neutrality beforehand, and the treatment of both the people and the land. I am proficient in German and know that should be beneficial. However, I haven't had much luck on finding programs and professors who specialize specifically on the Nordic countries during World War II.
Should I focus on Top 10 general European historians and programs or do you have some other suggestions?
I think it is important to mention that I do have a family, so moving out of the country for study is impossible. One semester abroad might be possible but five years just won't work for us. Programs in the U.S. are the only viable options.
