  1. I declined that one...but thank you! Have a great time in Australia! Best of luck to you!
  2. "Cannot support" was the official reason.
  3. Congrats everyone! I unfortunately was disapproved for Australia GROW. Bummed out, but alas..
  4. I know! I didn't propose to start until Mid October, but I would like to know ASAP, so I can start planning. I'm not sure, I haven't been in contact with my host, since I submitted last December. Melbourne, what about you?
  5. I"m still waiting to hear back from Australia as well.
  6. What country did you apply to? Congrats!
  7. That's awesome! Has it been with the same federal agency all three times? I completely agree about professional development. Did you ever have an issue with room/board costs? I'm a bit worried on the cost of everything to move across country and stay in an air bnb / sublet apartment.
  8. Thank you! It's with the USGS. I also applied for GROW for Australia! Still haven't heard back, but I don't expect to hear back until May. Fingers cross we hear back earlier.
  9. If i'm not mistaken, you can not apply for the NSF GRFP if you have more than 12 months of graduate study, aka you can not apply if you already have your Master's.
  10. Hi everyone. I thought I would start a thread on NSF GRIP/GROW program. I actually heard back from NSF this afternoon about my approval of my GRIP request!!!! Anyone else hear back? I believe the acceptance/approval rate is pretty high just based on the previous couple of years. I'm not sure if my advisor 100% approves of me doing this internship, especially since it's a little bit off the path of my dissertation and it would be six months long. Anyone else have this issue or completely different situation?
  11. Hi! I answered a question you had about attending A&M if that was the post you were referring to! I'm still around if you have any specific questions, happy to help!
  12. Thank you so much! This was very encouraging and positive! I'm a second year, so I won't be able to re-apply even if I wanted to, but hopefully I get it this year
  13. Last year when I applied, a reviewer wrote that my undergraduate GPA was not competitive enough (I had a 3.3) among the other applicants. I felt really bummed out because there is nothing I can change about my undergrad GPA. I did have REU experience + undergrad experience with a publication too, but I guess my C's in physics were noticeable.
