  1. There is a results page that people can input their info for interviews, acceptance, etc. Along with your GRE and GPA. http://thegradcafe.com/survey/index.php?q=Genetic+counseling
  2. Congrats! Hopefully that means I will hear from them soon, I didn't expect anything from them for a while since their deadline isn't until Feb 28th. Last year was the first year and it doesn't look like the previous forum has any info on it other than just mentioning it. Hopefully someone else can chime in!
  3. Here's the info from last year: http://www.nsgc.org/p/cm/ld/fid=289 Some background on the process, genetic counseling has one match day where all the schools will contact their interviewees and let them know about acceptance. This year is April 24th! If you had an interview but did not get accepted anywhere you can contact the schools that are open to post match and see if they are accepting any applicants. Post match an option that several schools will leave open just in case they weren't able to fill their entire class. There tends to be very few slots available for post match, with newer programs being the most likely since they get less applicants their first year.
  4. They were also a brand new program last year, so they probably had less applicants last year compared to this year so the process might take a little longer for them. They even had a slot available last year for post-match. Last year they had 20+ people requesting post-match, selected 10 for a Skype interview, and selected 3 of those for an official interview. I was able to get a Skype interview with them but was not selected for the official interview since I am extremely awkward over Skype. So I'm hoping they liked whatever they did last year for this year's formal application. For my background, as I have been lurking on this forum a lot more than posting: 3.51 GPA, 156Q/153V/4.0A GRE, working in Alzheimer's disease research for 3 years undergraduate and 3 years full time now, some shadowing experience in both cancer and prenatal, and volunteer work with both a children with special needs basketball league and with a woman's domestic violence group. This is my third cycle, with the first time I just applied to Northwestern and did not get an interview and last year I applied to Northwestern, WI, and IU, and got an interview only at Northwestern got waitlisted towards the top of the list. This year I have applied to NW, WI, IU, ISU, Ann Arbor MI, and Augustana in SD. Hopefully persistence is a desired quality in the application process. I wanted to put all this out there for anyone feeling a bit down about any rejections, things do get better and don't give up hope!
  5. I am also waiting anxiously to hear back from Indiana State after seeing it show up on the results forum. I wish you the best and hopefully we haven't heard back yet since it takes more effort to accept someone than it does to reject them.
  6. For anyone looking I found the Facilitating the Genetic Counseling Process here: http://link.springer.com/book/10.1007%2Fb97465 (you might need a springer subscription though, I am on my university internet so I might be bypassing that)
  7. Does anyone know the luck in the post match process? (Also so everyone knows that is looking into is Northwestern is full)
  8. Waitlisted for Northwestern, here's to hoping of hearing something soon!
