  1. Hi all, I'm a research finalist to Nigeria. I've applied to the Fulbright for 3 years in a row and didn't make it to the semi-finalist round the first two times, but I finally won this year! ?I've spent countless hours stalking this forum pages these past few years, so I just wanted to give back and send a S/O to all the new applicants, and HUGE S/O to the repeat applicants! You got this! I wanted to give back and share some advice I learned over the last few years, I polled a couple other recipients and we wrote a blog post about some advice we wish we knew- be sure to also check back in a month or so, as I'm still getting a few people to add their advice to it as well. This post is also pretty cool if you want some general motivation to just apply. Feel free to contact me on the contact section of my blog if you have any questions for me. I've asked so many virtual strangers questions these past few years, so it's only fair that I give back ? Best of luck!
  2. Happy March!!hopefully we get some winners today or next week
  3. Hey all, best of luck to everyone in this round! Is anyone else's country not on the spreadsheet?! I'm a semi finalist for Nigeria and theres absolutely no record of when I will hear the final notifications by .
  4. Hi all, I applied to do research in Nigeria. Anyone else notice that the application closed 3 weeks early this year? Anyone know if that means we'll be notified about the first round 3 weeks earlier (meaning next week)?
  5. Hi all, So glad this forum exists, and hope everyone is having a smooth time with their application! I'm applying for a research grant to Lithuania. I just graduated undergrad in May so I'm applying through my alma matter for now. I've created my own project that's involving interviews with other people, and I'm confused about what an individual ethics review means. I have obtained a letter of affiliation and am under the impression that most obtain an IRB approval from the Lithuanian University before they arrive but after they submit the Fulbright application. For the U.S., I tried to submit an IRB app to my alma mater for review but they said it may not count sense I am no longer an employee or student there. The committee also suggested I apply at large and obtain one through the department of state? Is anyone doing research on humans/animals outside of a graduate program? How did you go about getting an ethics review? Hope this makes sense:) Thanks guys!
