From an email to current MIT Biology grad students (about helping recruit the new class):

The Admissions Committee decided to invite 102 students to open house to interview. These invitations went out Saturday.

I'm not 100% sure that this means no more invites will be sent out, but I suspect that it might. Sorry guys.

    Oops, nvm re: previous post

I think it depends on the department. For example, last year MIT biology sent out all their interview invites in one day (at least from what we can see in the posted results) and then rejections six days later, whereas MIT BE sent them out slowly over the course of a month. D:

Called MIT Biology and the lady said all invites were sent out Saturday :s

Could someone let me know if Berkeley MCB has already sent out their official email invitations to on-campus interview? Thanks!

I called today and the lady said I'd hear back in the next week, but couldn't disclose if the notification would be an interview offer or not. ?

I also haven't heard from Berkeley yet, but it looks like only a few people have. I'm wondering if they've sent out all of the invites? I know the official email is set to come on Jan 3 but some people have gotten "unofficial" calls from professors. I'm debating whether or not it would come off as super annoying if I emailed the program coordinator about this, it just confuses me because it seems like not enough people got the "unofficial" invites, which gives me a shred of hope that more invites are still to come lol.

I called their office and they told me to call back if I hadn't heard back by Mid-January so that was vague lol. The MCB website says it's rolling so there's that to keep in mind

Isn't the second day a Saturday then? 2/24-27 is Friday-Monday... I'm not 100% sure of this, I'm waiting bc UW Genome Sciences and UC Berkeley MCB have the same two sets of dates, so if I get the UW interview that'll preclude staying through Monday at UCSF. Don't want to be presumptuous, but I will contact her if/when I hear from UW. Thanks so much!

Yeah, it's a Saturday ? and that sounds like a plan to me. I moved my weekend since it would conflict with Rockefeller, so I wanted to change it now just in case.

Does anyone know how long the UCSF interview weekend is? All I've gotten is 2/24, and I'm wondering how long it is, because Berkeley's weekend is 2/26-28, and I'd like to hit both.

Also how amenable are programs to switching you to another weekend? I think (from this website at least) UCSF tetrad had a second interview weekend on 2/2, which I could 100% make.

It's the 24-27, I believe. The other one is the 2/2-2/5.

Call Toni Hurley and talk to her about the potential conflict and she should be able to help you out. I recall that the 2nd day is the most important one because thats the interview day. The following days are encouraged but not mandatory, I believe. I had to change my weekend to 2/2 and she was very helpful. :)
