Just got the formal email after speaking to my advisor/POI in person about being waitlisted to Rutgers Newark (American Studies). I'm pretty bummed about this one, mainly because I thought I was most likely going to get in, but the reasoning seems to be lack of funding. Still waiting to hear back from most places, but its seeming less and less likely that they will be acceptances.
Also, is anyone else on here the other waitlist? PM me if you are.
Currently reading: Eeeee Eee Eeee by Tao Lin, Flying by Ralph Ellison, and All the Pretty Horses by Cormac McCarthy. In terms of more history related stuff, I'm also reading Migrant Imaginaries by Alicia Schmidt-Camacho.

This is also my round 2. My first set of applications was 2 years ago, in which I had a relatively lackluster GPA/GRE/Writing Sample to put forth so I'm really not surprised that I only got accepted to MA programs. However, after doing this past year and a half of grad work, I think it has really helped me become a much better candidate. That being said, I have yet to receive any acceptance/rejections and will continue to bury myself in my thesis work till I hear from somewhere. I don't know if my heart can take a round 3, but you never know!
These are all so great, I think if I get accepted anywhere I will want to do all the above whilst jumping for joy and doing some rendition of the happy dance. But I am assuredly doing several things: getting new clothes, crying hysterically, and getting extraordinarily drunk, not necessarily in that order.
As of now I have yet to hear anything (acceptance, rejection or waitlist) from all 5 of the schools I have applied to. At this point I just want to hear something from any of the schools.
