Is it typical to receive fellowship information prior to admissions information? I had one program reach out to do so, and I was (pleasently) surprised. I just thought that it would be the other way around. I'm not complaining though

Thanks, Wyatt! My area is more of a list filled with intersections than an exact thing haha. This is why writing a SOP was so difficult. Most people can call themselves a Modernist, Post-colonialist, Medievalist etc. If this is any indicator, I applied to all of my programs with an indicated interest in Poetics and with a secondary interest in Africana/AfAm/Diaspora/Post-colonial/Modernist studies.

56. Actually read all the books in my my bookshelf. 57. Finish my masters thesis 58. When I finally finish the thesis, work on my poetry. 59. Sleep for a proper 8 hours (if my body even knows how to do that anymore).
