  1. I just got off the wait list and accepted a position at UT Houston! So excited to meet my other classmates. Also for the people on the wait list at VCU, I tried calling twice to tell Tahnee I would not take the position, but it went to VM. I emailed her about it, but will call again in about another hour. So that list should move a bit today
  2. Did you just accept? They called a few hours ago saying I was at the top of their waitlist. Side note, congrats to you both!!!
  3. Just got a call from UTHouston, I'm number 1 on their wait list! I need wine and puppies
  4. @metabolismo looks like we got that call at about the same time haha Yea, I just decided to let go of Emory (can't believe I'm writing that). It was my second choice school, but I'm already in so much debt from undergrad, I can't justify getting in debt over 130,000. They did offer a 2,000 scholarship for the first year, but it doesn't really help with cost overall. Plus a got a really good vibe from VCU. I know that all the GC programs are amazing and impressive so I know I'll still get an amazing education
  5. anyone hear from UTHouston? They're my top choice
  6. thanks everyone! this is super helpful.
  7. Anyone who interviewed at Emory or VCU remember about how much cost of living was? I lost my pros and cons list!
  8. I decided to plan a trip to visit a friend in the UK 2 days after Match Day (I know poor choice to blow my tax refund when I should be saving for grad school). It's definitely helping me keep my mind off things, which is a major plus. However, my type A personality has already packed my luggage, booked hostels, and prepared all the documents I would need. So now I have nothing to keep myself busy. I also joined a bowling league...it seemed like a good idea at the time.
  9. Totally right, I do not want to hold onto a spot longer than I should. I thought ranking the schools would be easier and I've only interviewed at a couple but still I'm finding it tough to decide on a clear 'winner'
  10. Thank you, this is definitely helpful! The last thing I want to do is make it seems as though I don't appreciate their offer or want to attend their program
  11. this might be a bit premature, but I'm hopeful, on D-day how do you deal with a phone call acceptance form your number 2 school? Its 8am and you haven't heard from your number 1 school, but you don't want to commit to the acceptance without at least getting a rejection from your first choice. How does that conversation even go? 'Hey thanks for the offer, but I'm waiting on another school...brb, call you soon' Anyone have any etiquette advice on this?
  12. Any know when CSU Stanislaus should be sending out interview notifications? I need to know whether to save up money for a flight or not lol. I went to VCU last week and it cost me rent to fly out there. I will say I did wait a little too long to buy tickets so I recommend buying your tickets the day you get your interview email
  13. Okay, that helps put my mind at ease a bit, thanks!
  14. Looks like some people have heard back form Univ of Pitt, I'm assuming by now that I didn't get in, but I haven't gotten a rejection email (I've even checked spam). Is anyone else still waiting on it? Also, UT Houston just sent out some interview emails. I choose March 30th, is anyone going to interview that day?
