@SamStone @joshmyers Yeah, I had the same curiosity about how strictly it was ordered. And I was surprised by the positivity too! A very encouraging email to say the least, haha. I am primarily interested in metaphysics, philosophy of language, and social philosophy (esp. philosophy of gender). I'm in a similar boat as @joshmyers - I am strongly considering it, but need to have a better idea of what's happening down the road (since I still have to hear back from 11 programs). Would absolutely love to visit though!

Also on the waitlist! Though, I am curious about what process they use to admit applicants off the waitlist?

This may not be venting, but I have a general haze of confusion about what to be looking out for and when. Are accepted students emailed or called personally (i.e., not just given an update through an application page)? Also, is there any rhyme or reason to the time of day that people are contacted? And do all of the first round acceptances go out the same day, or do they sort of trickle out over time? I'm sure it differs, but a general idea of how best to keep an eye out might ease my worries haha...

I wondered the same thing! Though I am not sure how directly the protests would affect the timing of their decision release?

Hi all! I just finished undergrad at a top 10 PGR-ranked school. I took the year off between undergrad and grad school to really settle on a path going forward (I was considering law school, as many philosophers do). I'm currently working full time, reading up on feminist metaphysics, and worrying about admissions results! AOI: metaphysics, philosophy of language, social philosophy. I applied to 12 PhD programs: Harvard, MIT, NYU, Princeton, Rutgers, Stanford, UC Berkeley, UCLA, UNC Chapel Hill, U Michigan (Ann Arbor), UT Austin, Yale. Best of luck to you all!
