I think that's BS. If you read the Recovery Act, there is no indication that (additional) money was to be set aside for GRFP. When I visited a school and the profs were discussing it, it was also their impression that graduate students wouldn't see the money.
-
Chances are it will work with NDSEG since full tuition/fees are paid. NSF is more of a crap shoot because they only receive 10,500 for tuition and they have to foot the rest of the bill. You have no bridges to burn, not doing it is silly.

Pretty sure 3 review sheets mean either award or HM. Point I was making is that depending upon how good that last review was determines which of the two...
-
The website allows you to only review the rating sheets. It won't say congrats you've won. But if you saw 3 reviews and the last one was good (as it is the tie-breaker), you can glean that you've won or received HM.
-
I wouldn't worry. While last year's trick was far from a 'hack', what was done this year was entirely legit. Sure, you lied about 'forgetting your password', but nothing mischeiveous. You're fine.
-
It's the same. Everything has been shut down.
-
No, it said I was in the 70th percentile or lower right smack in the middle of the page. There were hyperlinks to the reviews on the left hand side.
-
It wasn't on the rating sheets, it was on the main page. I hesitated and by the time I clicked to read my ratings, they shut it down. Last year I had really good reviews and I was like wtf, why didn't I get it then. I imagine they said the same ole shit again this year. Hopefully everything will go back online soon. I really do want to read them.
-
They probably figured out people were snooping around. I can't log on anymore, but I had only 2 review sheets and it said I was in the 70th percentile or less and was unsuccessful.
-
You can't. If you applied last year, you were able to still log in to see your rating sheets for a while. Then a few weeks ago, the passwords didn't work anymore. Then yesterday the entire page disappeared. Now, it's back online.
-
huh? Valid observation on hhog's part. I think it's a good sign that things are rolling along.
-
I think that refers to your application materials getting logged in. However, I've found that not to be entirely accurate. When I was applying, I was always checking to see when my references were submitted. It was almost instananeous; I didn't have to wait until 2am the next day...Or at least as I remember it.
-
They are all liars. Don't worry, there are enough people contributing to/reading this thread that when someone genuinely knows they'll let everyone know.
-
I disappear for a few hours and I miss the major freak-out! Hmm, I'm thinking today something will happen. They are obviously tinkering with something. The rating sheets page is down, as are the 2008 awards. For my sanity, today ought to be the day.
-
Forget about the left/right panes. If you are successful a link should appear below "Application Package Task List". As of now, it should be empty...
-
I think you both are delusional. ;-) They need to just put us out of our misery. For the 75 percent of the people who won't even get the award or HM, why not just tell us? NSF doesn't need to approve of the list of names rejected. Seriously.
-
^ I'm sure that's how it always looked...
-
No, it was definitely accessible an hour ago (because I've attempted to login)! They are doing something to it now!
-
I'm still waiting for that slip-up. This happened at least two years in a row, but people should be able to find out if they got it before they "officially" make the list available. I'm banking on today or tomorrow.
-
BioC, they did that last year as well. "Early April" meant April 2nd last year...
-
rising_star, that's not true! Schools are not required to withhold taxes on your behalf, and in many cases, won't.
-
Would you be surprised to know that they used that excuse last year as well? (That they were waiting to see how many they can give out.) That's why when I hear all these people talking about the budget, and getting more money, it's BS. Not to say that there won't be more awards this year, as that was a possibility long before Obama, it's not an excuse for why it's taking so long.
-
Last year they said "early April" as well and e-mails went out April 2nd. However, it seems winners were able to see they got their award when they logged on the 31st of March.

Last year's rating sheets have been disabled today. Maybe things are imminent?!
