concrema reacted to VMcJ in Welcome to the 2016-17 cycle!
I have to wait for six responses. UNC, Rochester, ND and Maryland have had acceptances on the results page, I don't hope much from them. Vanderbilt must be out today or Monday. The real question for me now is Penn.
I cannot complain. If somebody said to me three months ago that I would have five good offers I would not believe. I'm sorry for those who weren't as lucky, but I can say this (and I've said a couple of times here already): there is always next cycle, and this doesn't have to be the end.

Waiting on Michigan, ND, Yale, and Cornell. But still haven't received closure from a few schools either.
I'm hoping that mine get wrapped up in the next 2.5 weeks. I am tired of waiting. This process is tortuous.

Congrats, all of you who recently received acceptances, especially those coveted Stanford and Columbia acceptances!
Also, I would like to formally request that my college stop sending me emails until this cycle is over. I'm tired of getting psyched up every time I get an email notification only to read some pointless communiqué about a campus event.

Yeah, it's an easy decision to make, but a hard action to take.
Myself, I am spiralling inside my own conundrum. I have five good offers, maybe will get a couple more, and can see good reasons for accepting all of them. My case should be settled by visiting them, but that is not going to happen. My only solace is that:
"Is this a hard choice for you?" he demanded. Yes! I cried. "Oh," he said, springing back cheerfully. "In that case, it doesn't matter. If it's a hard decision, then there's always lots to be said on both sides, so either choice is likely to be good on its way. Hard choices are always unimportant."

Well, like someone else said, you got into Columbia. So it would be great (and this goes for all you other PSU admits!), if you don't think you'll accept, there are a lot of us (hint, hint) who might want your spot (hint, hint), so, um, like, try to tell them that soon-ish???

If it's top 20, the chances are high enough that it's not 0% but low enough so that you can't get your hopes up

Oh so you mean this feeling of anxiety can stay in my gut for several more weeks?? Lovely but seriously that's nice to hear... Still in the hunt!

I got rejected from Duke two years ago. They don't send waitlist emails, so the rejections were sent out at around late march. This also means that the ones who don't receive a rejection will always have a chance

Just went through my inbox and unsubscribed from every mailing list I ever signed up for, since every time the count for unread messages goes up, I have a mini heart attack. This waiting game is absolutely brutal!

Hi everyone. I got several acceptances and rejections and wanna share these.
* Accepted: University of Arizona(TA or RA / 15000$ per year for 5 years + one-time 5000$), Rutgers(TA or RA / 25000$ per year for four years + summer mentoring offer 3000$), SUNY at Albany(funding not yet decided and will come out in the next few weeks), U.C. Davis(funidng not yet decided and will come out in the next few days)
* Interview: USC, Michigan State.
* Rejected or implied rejections: GWU, Emory, Austin, Northwestern, WashU, Berkeley
And, I am wondering
1) if those who got admitted to Davis were notified of any information about funding.
2) if there is anyone who is having an interview or already has done it.
(Is this for some kinda double-check after actual decisions have already been made or for dropping the candidates from their short-list?
