  1. I agree it is a lot of money for me personally. But it is true that we have no idea what is each of our own financial situations in this forum. Sometimes a person will be in debt or they might have trust funds or live in a close relationship to upper class/rich circles which does not means that the accounts will be shared but that the network might open doors that will lead to an ok financial situation I guess. In my case I don't have a trustfund and cannot afford to go to Columbia but I do understand those who want to give a try even if debt comes together. The idea of perhaps/maybe/who knows getting the "right" connections, being part of the Whitney Biennial, being shown in some interesting gallery, hanging out with Sarah Sze in their mentoring week doesn't seem bad to me. We have unequal oportunities as a whole in America so it wouldn't be different in this forum as in the school's fees. Good luck everyone with getting funding, hopefully people who can afford it do not ask for funding so that can leave a little more chance for those who don't. And congrats everyone with their acceptances! @Poodle-Doodle, you deserve all your acceptances, hope you can make it to Columbia with funding! (idk if that is what you want but Nyc, good school and funding sounds like a dream (mine) at least. ?
  2. Hey, sorry I respond so late. Had to sort of try to take a break from the forum to not get even more anxious. I had one video and now. Checked the stats and I got a hit from Skowhegan in the past one week. Did you get it as well? Guess they are doing the selection now? Or first round was last week? Don't know but am freaking out!
  3. Thank you for the detailed explanation! Yes, I can understand a bit better now. There are indeed many many masters, it's absurd. I'm excited and I think I would like the city. Let's see how the interview goes. Good luck!
  4. What are the aspects that gave SAIC bad reputation? I've heard that they are a bit too coorporate but I didn't care that much cause I think that all of the private ones are as well? But could you tell a bit more Nicole? I'm curious, I have an interview there and am looking forward to it. At the same time I have been thinking that if I would get in and decided to do it I would have to get many loans to fund it.
  5. In case Ucla is really a no, apply for residencies, then mfa next year again, your work is really nice!
  6. This answer is amazing! Thank you so much for taking the time to do that. Super helpful. No idea if I will get in but you made the experience there quite visual. Nice to know about the library, I am a book nerd and I collect as many as my pockets allow me to do. Would love to see it there! the bugs, lol, important tip! Thanks again and best of luck for your applications!
  7. Congratulations! Which program? And do you mean finalist as you got in or finalist to be interviewed? Regarding ivy league or UCLA, I think depends on which program you applied and of your funding possibilites. Which ivy league do you mean?
  8. Thanks! I applied for sculpture. @tugbamina_871 But y'all are probably right to wait until grad school to apply, then they can cover the fee. I just thought since it is so competitive I might as well just try and see if it works out. Seems like responses come around April so still some waiting time to wonder. I didn't know ACRE, @sylviecerise, it looks gret tho, hope you will get it! @Poodle-Doodle, that is awesome! You should check Documenta as well but I guess you will since you will be in Leipzig? @YayYayYay I do have many! Thanks! Perhaps it is better to ask you here on the thread in case more people want to read about it as well? How did you like it the program? Was it a bit too intense? I really like company but also really need time alone for my practise, do you get any time for yourself during the program or is all the period you are in there fully packed? What was the best part of the program? It seems like a lot of people found the networking the most relevant part of the program? Which is fine with me, I'm just not really good at it and would like to also make sure there would be time to be a loner making works. Lol Thank y'all!
