I applied to both! Just to maybe give me better chances? Wishful thinking ! What about you? I'm anxious to find out..ugh

I applied to both too! I think I would rather be in Dallas, but I wouldn't mind Abilene either! I'm so anxious to find out. Good luck to you! Keep in touch and let me know when you hear :)

I applied to WVU too! I don't know much about their program, but I'm starting to wonder when they will let us know about the interviews because I think they are being held in a couple of weeks.

I agree, I was looking at the results from last year and it looks like some people got rejected, some accepted and some interviews on Februay 16th (this week!) so if they do it the same as last year it looks like they send out the first round soon! Fingers crossed lol

I applied to Appalachian State, but I don't know any more about the program than what is listed on their website.

The waiting is indeed painful... I can't wait until March! Good luck!

I can't wait until March too! It's so far away. Good to know there's other people out there, let me know if you hear anything!

  4. Hey guys!

I haven't really found anyone on here that has applied to any of the schools I have, so I thought I would make a post and see if there's anyone out there I can connect who applied to any of the same schools!

I am from Michigan originally but applied to 10 schools all over the country. If anyone has applied to any of the following schools or has any additional information about the schools I would love to hear from you! (Really just trying to keep myself distracted through the waiting process so I figure we can painfully wait together lol)

    West Virginia University

    Appalachian State University

    University of Memphis

    University of Georgia,

    Grand Valley State University

    University of Texas at Dallas

    Abilene Christian University

    Fort Hayes University

    Eastern Illinois University

    Wichita State University

  5. Hi!

I'm actually in a very similar boat. 3.5 GPA 3.87 GPA in my major and very strong GPA in my last 60 credits (my feshman year killed my GPA when I was a pre-med student!!) and my scores were okay, but very similar to yours

    V-155

    Q-149

    AW-4.5

I've talked to a lot of people and heard that GRE scores are pretty much the least weighted of all the stuff the look at. They would rather know you worked your butt off in school and have relevant experience than the fact that you can kick butt at a standardized test.

That being said, it does definitely depend on the school, some schools that ae higher ranked and more competitive may HAVE to weed out applications based on GPA nad GRE only because they get so many and it's near impossible to really look at everyone's.

I hope this helped at least a little bit, and know there are people out there in the same boat! (Me) lol

    Good luck!!

I will say incomplete until you received your acceptance email (most likely from Dr. Stillman). I got an email and it mentioned to send my transcripts to be "officially admitted" in the system. He mentioned to me that unfortunately it is pretty confusing, but ya. Don't worry about it if thats the only thing that says incomplete for you is stuff about the transcripts. :) Good luck

Perfect thanks so much! This is my top choice so I'm really hoping to hear soon! Submitted my app at the end of January :)

  7. I'm also in the same boat! I have always held at least one, sometimes even two jobs while in undergrad and it would be SO HARD for me to not wok during graduate school. If anything i possible, I would say probably waitress or bar-tending. I do that currently and only work Saturdays and Sundays and am still able to take home around $300 per weekend. Babysitting is also good, I've gotten jobs from care.com and it's nice to find something that is flexible and works well with your schedule.

Hopefully those of us that really need it will find a way to work!

Oh and also, I am in an undergrad program right now that works in the clinic alongside grad students and I hear a lot of them talking about how they babysit frequently so I guess that's a good sign!

You can find out how many spots there are at each program on edfind on the ASHA website.  As far as how many they interview you can definitely know that if you are interviewed you are among a very few compared to how many applicant there were.  GVSU told us that they interviewed 90 and would accept 30 and waitlist another 30.  This was told to us during out interview.

Hey! I applied to GVSU this year and am wondering about interviews. Do you remember around when they sent out invites for interviews?

Super nervous, I love their program!

    Thanks :)

    Hi all,

I'm a little confused by the UT Dallas portal. It says my app is incomplete and awaiting my official transcript, but from what I've seen they only want your official transcript after you've been offered admission. Does everyone's portal say incomplete awaiting documents??

Hey! I'm confused too, my portal says incomplete, missing official transcripts. It makes me nervous.
