  1. Quick question: If, upon inquiry, a school tells me that my application 'was very impressive' but I was not selected for the initial round of interview invitations, adds that they might decide to interview a second group of students at some later time but will have no information about it for a few more weeks, should I take it as an outright rejection (set credence of acceptance = 0), or leave open a small possibility of acceptance (set credence to some (low) non-zero value)?
  2. You are referring to the applyweb portal right? Mine still says 'Ready for Review'. /shrug
  3. I thought of that possibility, but they have been sending out wait-list emails in recent years so I thought it strange that they stopped doing it this year.
  4. Hey all - I was just wondering if there's anyone else out there who didn't get accepted to WUSTL but didn't get any rejection from them last week either. I just found it weird since they have sent out wait-list emails in the past year (often right after the rejections) but I have heard nothing yet. Emailing the department yielded nothing either - I might be overthinking things but thought it'd be nice to find other comrades in commiseration.
  5. Me too! Now it has me irrationally hoping that I just *might* get the golden ticket ...
  6. Ahh that's a bummer. Perhaps give the admin a few more days (~2 weeks from deadline) to match the GRE scores to your dossier / reply to your email - if there's no update even after then, then I think it wouldn't be too problematic to give them a friendly call.
  7. That has happened for a few of the programs I've applied for (e.g. Pitts HPS): the usual response is that the committee will look at your submitted / reported scores independent of the official scores so the official scores should not matter in making a decision for your application. The official scores are mostly there to ensure that you weren't just pulling numbers out of thin air, so I wouldn't worry so much about it if I were you. (Still worth writing in to ask imo, but wanted to give you some peace of mind!)
  8. Finally, the long-awaited UCSD rejection!
  9. One of the acceptances belongs to my partner (who told me to post for her because she's too lazy to sign up for an account). EDIT: she also got a fellowship for five years' worth of funding.
  10. Seems like another USC wait-list offer went out via e-mail - I think this is it for me
  11. Thanks for the heads-up!
  12. Likewise for the USC wait-list - did they just send out a wave of wait-lists?
  13. Princeton rejections are out too. :')
  14. Same - since they've already sent out wait-lists (?) and acceptances it seems strange that they are holding back on rejections... (same with Berkeley, tbh).
  15. MIT rejections are out
  16. Not only acceptances but also wait-lists I think. If we assume that a school can either accept or wait-list or reject you, and does not accept nor wait-list you, then it it implies they have rejected you even if they have not sent you one just yet?
  17. lol me too :| I suppose what I am really waiting for is other people's acceptances...
  18. Awaiting any updates with bated breath...
  19. Just saw a USC acceptance via phone on FB ... whelp.
  20. Saw that you applied to USC and MIT - me too! They should be out by now but it's basically deafening silence...
  21. Yea, and last year's wait-list for WUSTL (if the remarks are to be believed) was 40 people long... best of luck to all
  22. Hopefully? They typically send out wait-list emails as well, so I guess I'll just wait and see.
  23. I didn't get an acceptance a few weeks ago and had assumed I was rejected, but I didn't get the rejection email either (yet?)... not sure what to think now.
  24. was it a generic email blast?
  25. Anyone want to claim that LPS acceptance from Irvine?
