    The graduate admissions office at Tyler is a mess. They apparently didn't sync my portfolio and application, and only forwarded it to the painting department when I emailed them asking about my status. I suggest just emailing your department head directly to get a better idea.

    Thank you! If I hadn't back in February I would have never found out they messed up my application either. Like you said a few pages ago, I don't believe in no, but no(t right now) lol. Gonna keep making work and doing my thing, try again next year. Yeah, their whole admissions process has been a great mystery to me. Shame, because I really like some of the faculty, and some of the students and alumni that have come from Tyler. I might re-apply next year based on those factors, but, like you said, we're young and got time. Best of luck to you on your endeavors!

    Mustered up the courage to email Tyler this morning to ask what's going on, and finally got some official word that I'm on the waitlist. apparently they will "have decisions made by the beginning of next week at latest." ?

    After realizing I hadn't fixed the issue before they sent out acceptances, I feel like I should ask for one at this point. Or to be honest, a fee waiver for next year would be even better! Just not really sur e how to go about it lol.

    The same thing happened to me with Tyler, and admissions said they'd let the department know, but they had already sent out acceptances. Didn't even get a fair chance. I'm sorry this happened to you as well. Wish I had a better answer!

    This is a super old comment, but I was doing some searching on the forum since I have been thinking about applying to these summer intensives, and was wondering if Tyler offers any sort of scholarship for theirs? Also congrats on the Yale acceptance!

    @KatieB1987 If that's the case, an update saying I've been wait-listed would have been nice lol. I just wonder if they even reviewed/received my application because the admissions office didn't fix it til the 14th (so probably not). When I emailed the painting department asking about it, I just got a generic response that didn't confirm anything. Bonkers is right.

    I also haven't heard back from Tyler. Someone posted some pages back that they heard they were now going to get back to people in late March, so don't lose hope just yet! Not to mention that they weren't conducting any interviews this year. The administration totally fudged my application, but I think we all still got a chance lol.

    Whoa, congrats! Glad to see someone's heard back from Tyler. I'm super pumped, I really like your work, which makes me like the program even more. Even if I don't get in this round will definitely be re-applying next year. Kind of peeved they messed up my application, cause I didn't resolve the issue til the 14th, meaning I might not have even gotten a chance but hey!

    Uh to those who applied to Indiana-Bloomington: I'm not sure if this will be helpful or not, but I applied there in 2015 for painting, and I received a response (rejection) from them on March 19th that go around. That was when it was still called the Hope Radford Hope School of Fine Arts though. Not sure if the name change means they've downsized the department or what, but I hope it eases someone's nerves out there? Good luck to everyone and congrats to those who have received acceptances!

    What @vespertine said, I'm still waiting to hear back from Tyler painting as well. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

    Maybe you could email their financial aid office or something to appeal for assistance? That is pretty misleading... :/

    I emailed the head of the department last week and he told me they wouldn't be interviewing anyone this year/ are still reviewing applications, and we should be hearing back early March.

    Got emailed my VCU rejection this morning. Saw it coming since I didn't receive an interview notice. @Poodle-Doodle Thanks for the words of encouragement!
