  1. Hi hi! So I haven't heard anything from them yet, but I called them on Thursday because I wanted to know what sort of paperwork I needed to prove that I was an EU citizen to get the EU discount — but turns out you have to also have been living in Euorpe for the last three years... womp womp. So I then inquired about scholarships and financial aid and the response from the receptionist was — we don't really offer that, but we do give out loan packages... you will receive all of this information when you receive your official acceptance. She said that we would receive this via email by the 12th. So financial help there really does not sound too promising — which is a total bummer because on top of the tuition London is just so damn $$$!
  2. Thank you!! I haven't heard anything about funding yet — but I have been blessed with duel (US/French) citizenship and applied as a Frenchie and with EU RCA is much cheaper then RISD! I have lived in the US for most of my life though, so I hope they honor this... I am going to email them about funding sometime this week and let you know if I hear anything! I haven't decided yet! Right now I am between RISD and RCA — I'm not sure if California is right for me but it is still in the running! I do really love CalArts and Anther is SO LOVELY!
  3. Cool! When did you have your interview? I had my interview with them on Thursday! I am pretty sure they just started interviewing people for visual communications this week! They said that they were going to let us know within the next two weeks! I also got that email — I am pretty sure it was a mass email that they sent out to everyone that applied. I wouldn't stress yet!
  4. Thats so exciting!!!! I'm super jelly! Will you let us know when you hear about funding/when you have commit to enrollment by? I'm keeping hopes up that a spot opens up for me from the waitlist (even though I know it is highly unlikely :-/).
  5. CONGRATS!!! Thats great! You really killed it! Did you get in everywhere? How many schools did you apply to??
  6. Thats great! Those are all great schools! Yale said that they will let everyone know by March 11th. Good luck!!
  7. I emailed Miranda asking about it today and then got an email about it being posted about 10 minutes later. I don't know if it was coincidence or because of my email but to check if they have posted it all you need to do is to go to your "hub" and click on view your Financial Aid Checklist and then it should tell you where in the process your financial aid is. If its ready — there should be a link at the bottom to your financial aid package!
  8. I didn't apply to very many schools but it kind of seems like they come out whenever — leaning towards the later half of the day? I heard from RISD at 4:30 pm on a Sunday and from Calarts at 5pm on a Friday. For my yale interview I heard at like 10 pm on a Friday. Hahah so who knows!?
  9. It's going well — really really stressful though! I will be so relived once this whole process is over! It has totally destroyed my social life. hahah. I totally feel you on getting swept up in the "commercial world". It is so hard to find the time to make things for your self when you work full-time! I have a general fine arts degree and even though I applied to 2 yr programs — I did show some of the non design artwork that I was making in college for some of the more conceptually driven programs like yale (they super hate client work and I have mostly client work). I was really worried about it because it was not "graphic design" but they seemed to respond to it better then anything else in my portfolio. I don't know your reasons for applying to grad school — but for me it really helped to show where I was coming from and to frame the work that I wanted to be making. All that to say — maybe its worth taking a look back at the work you made in school in order to give context and position yourself! Good luck on Cranbrook!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! Everyone that I know that has gone through that program is a total bad ass. My favorite teacher ever went there too!
  10. Congrats on NC State and your Interview at Cranbrook! I don't know much about NC state, but Cranbrook is a really great school and has a rich and influential history in graphic design! Don't get too discouraged — it takes a lot of people a few rounds of applying to get in and to really find out what schools are best for them! A lot of the schools you applied to only accept around 10 students a year out of about 300 applicants! Did you study graphic design for your undergraduate degree? Have you taken any time off after your bfa?
