I saw on Twitter there is talk about 50%+ applicant increases to various graduate psychology programs this year.

I don't know how true this is across the board, but just wanted to post a heads up. If the programs you applied at saw these type of increases, you may end up with a more competitive experience than some of us had in past cycles.
Remember to be kind to yourself while waiting for and getting results. I'm rooting for all of you.

I totally thought there would be education burnout, fear of online courses, etc. which would tip the scales the opposite way. However I guess with higher rates of unemployment, GRE scores being waived at most institutions, this might have the counter effect.
Also, I feel sorry for the poor profs who need to filter out their top few.

If it's at all reassuring, last year I received interview invites for 6 clinical psych phd programs ranging from December 26-January 22! I also know that due to the increased number of applicants this year that things may be taking longer (inside scoop from a clinical psych phd faculty). I recommend not being too harsh on yourself - it's quite early yet ❤️
Totally agree- I've had 3 interview invites in past application rounds- from Mid December to Mid February. It really isn't over until you get the "no". Once I even got a rejection from a uni in Mid-July. (Wait-listed i'm assuming)
For some reason, this round is the only round where I haven't been checking this ~* a g g r e s s i v e l y *~

Hey y'all, question time
(This is my first time applying and I am very nervous..) On the results page I've noticed some people have gotten prelim emails/etc from southern mississippi (my top choice). I haven't gotten any emails yet (boooo) so I am anxiously waiting. However, in my student profile on USM website, they have already assigned me a student id? didn't know if that was just for application purposes? Any advice/calming words of wisdom would be appreciated
Often the university ID is just for application purposes. It gives them an easy way to ensure they're informing the correct person about their decision/ app status.

If you start seeing that your POI sent out prelim invites but you didn't get one, is all hope lost? I'm trying not to panic but I also want to be rational
Hey,
Definitely don't panic! Sometimes prelim invites are to decide between people, not to confirm favorites
