The one time they made a real announcement, the server went down from 11pm-2am.

We were told "one more week" about 3 weeks ago. Without status updates, we've been forced to presume that the results coming out is imminent for about 2 weeks straight. If they would put something useful on the site like "Update, May 10th: Release of the results has been delayed at least an additional week due to whatever", everybody's life would be much happier.

The thing is, we're not asking for a specific date of release. We're asking for an estimate that isn't wrong by an order of magnitude.

I'm only up because I got commissioned to fix my grandparents computer, and I'm still finishing up some virus scanning.

Some of the fastlane.nsf.gov URLs now seem to be redirecting to fastlane-beta.nsf.gov instead of displaying a blank screen.

At least a day, I think.

So there's kind of two identical versions of the site, there's fastlane.nsf.gov, and there's fastlane-beta.nsf.gov. Earlier both were working fine, now only the latter is still loading for me. I also think http://www.nsfgrfp.org/ changed it's link for "check my application" from the one with beta (which is still up) to the one without beta (which just gives you a blank screen now). So I guess stuff* is happening tonight. *No guarantee that "stuff" is posting lists, could just be regular maintenance.

Well, so far it looks like they actually meant the site would go down tomorrow night, even though they said it would tonight. But at this point, I'm not really surprised by that.

Site's been down for about 15 minutes. Pretty sure it's the usual 4am server restart, but I'm going to be awake grading papers anyways.

Because even though 12am is technically the start of a new day, it's often grouped with the night of the preceding day as opposed to the morning of the upcoming one. Plus (assuming this is cover for releasing the second wave), I just think it makes more sense to release it on the morning of a business day when the GRFP people will be around to field calls from the second round of winners.

What exactly do they mean by "Sunday from 12:00am-8:00am"? It's not immediately clear to me if they're meaning to refer to Saturday night/Sunday morning, or Sunday night/Monday morning.

Do I get brownie points for almost all of my posts coming from a single thread?

Yeah, my guess for a while has been announcement on Monday. Somebody posted a while back that NSF people were meeting on/around the 15th, and I figured they'd get their shit together over the weekend and be ready to go public early in the next week.

FWIW, I'm pretty sure the site goes down for 1-5 minutes every night (morning?) at 4:30am EST, independent of any announcements of "regularly scheduled maintenance".
