  1. I didn't get an email about the wait list. I'm not sure what to think of that. It sucks but I'll move on. I'm grateful that york rejected me quickly. It made the pain subside much faster....Laurier likes to take off the bandaid slowly I guess.
  2. I still didn't get an email or a notification of admission. I'm happy that there's progress at Laurier at least and I'll finally know if I got in or didn't soon enough. It was my first time applying and this journey has taught me so much that even if I don't get in this year, I'm confident that I'll get in next year. Good luck to everyone waiting. It looks like a few people will be declining their offers so if we end up on a wait list there's hope.
  3. Most BSW program applications are closed by now..I know because I called pretty much every school after my rejection at York. The only school that is still accepting applications is the University of North British Columbia. It is a 2 year BSW program for people who have another degree. The people at the admissions office seem really nice and helpful.
  4. Still waiting on Laurier...I heard absolutely nothing from them since I applied that I even forgot I applied to it.
  5. I KNOW!!! After my rejection at york, I moved on to plan B's, C's and D's. I was so discouraged, I just assumed I didn't get in to Laurier as well. If Social Work is what you're passionate about, I'm sure you'll find your path to it.
  6. @lovelife905Thanks...I actually applied to another masters program at U of T which I'm sure I'll get into and an accelerated SSW program at seneca that starts in may. I totally lost hope in Laurier but since I haven't been rejected yet maybe I'll let myself to think positively for the next few weeks. Appreciate the positive energy.
  7. Hi @canadianmsw329 I asked that question at the information session I went to last August and I was advised that even if you don't get into the the JD program you can get into the MSW. Angela also advised me that if I were to get into the 2 year MSW this year and got into JD the following year, you can still do the combined program. I confirmed the information with the faculty of law. I will be applying to U of T's MSW next year, I wish I didn't miss the deadline. I applied to york and didn't get in and still waiting for Laurier but I'm assuming if I didn't get into York, I probably won't get into Laurier. I thought I had a great application interms of grades and references but truth be told I lacked in experience. All I had was a few hours volunteering at Catholic Children's Aid.
