  1. NEW Canadian universities M.S.W thread (2017)

I got my wait list letter today as well! I'm very proud of myself as should you all who also got waitlisted. Congratulations to everyone who got accepted into the MSW program at UofT and good luck to all who got wait listed - please do not feel discouraged!

Does anyone know how it works with Laurier - rejection or acceptance - based on last years forum? Do we find out by mail first, does it show up on our LORIS, etc? At least UofT's SGS Admissions website makes you aware of whether your application is still under review or if there's been a decision made, but LORIS doesn't seem as advanced.

I am in the exact same boat!!! I've already had a few interviews. It's so stressful - but I haven't mentioned anything about school yet. If you do get the positions, you can always ask them when you need to accept by ? Which can buy you more time to *hopefully* get accepted into your masters! Good luck

Suppppppper frustrating - my SGS admissions application still says 'under review' I just want to know my status already!

    Anyone hear from Laurier yet??
  6. NEW Canadian universities M.S.W thread (2017)

Hello everyone, I don't really know how to use this forum but I'm trying lol. Congratulations to all who have been accepted (and waitlisted!!) Has anyone been accepted to Laurier and/or UofT yet? These are the only 2 schools I've applied to for the two-year MSW program. I haven't heard anything yet - not even 'decision made' on the UofT Admissions site. This waiting game sucks! Vanessa
  7. I do not mind the input at all, in fact I really appreciate it. Thank you! Just to clarify, your work full time for the last 8 years, has it been in relation to social work or in the community in anyway?? If so, could you give me any suggestions on where to look? I am also filling out volunteer applications to keep my resume updated in case I do not get into the MSW program, my resume will continue to flourish when I apply next year. Other than that, I am applying for a whole bunch of other random positions. lol. Really just doing this as a back up to be safe, but deep down inside - of course - I am hoping to continue my studies for another two years
  8. What schools did you all apply to? I do not have a bachelor's of social work so I applied to the two year MSW program at UofT and at Laurier. I feel as if I also should of applied to York. But, too late! Anyone have any opinions on the program at Laurier?
  9. Also, super inspiring. I love what you wrote. Thank you for this! I agree, whatever is meant to be will happen and if social work is truly our passion, we will just keep trying and it will be meant for us when it's truly the right timing.
  10. I love this!!! Thank you for the inspiration and giving us hope!
  11. I've never used this site before and not sure what I'm doing but I just felt like I should inform everyone that I am scared... SHITLESS! Currently looking for future careers/jobs in case I don't get accepted into the Two Year MSW program for September 2017!!!! I hope I get in but damn it looks competitive reading past forums and people's background/experience/grades, etc.
