    Have any alternates heard back yet? Does anyone know when the deadline is for when alternates should hear back by? I'm a Ford alternate who was awarded NSF as well. I have to declare tenure for NSF by 5/1, but if I am awarded Ford I have to put NSF on reserve and accept the first year of Ford. So hopefully I heard back before 5/1!

    Does anyone have statistics on the "alternate" label? What are the chances of success as an alternate? How many alternates are there? Is every HM an alternate?

    Just found out that I was selected as an alternate (w/ honorable mention) for the Ford Fellowship. Fortunately, I received the NSF Fellowship less than a week ago.
