You are the same person before and after you receive this notification. It does not define your competence, self-worth, or intelligence! Good luck everyone. Dying here with you.

Man, I'm glad I read this. The 5 sentence lesson plan is impossible. Now that you've it isn't particularly a violation, I'm taking the L because I can't get it shorter than 8 sentences haha oh well

It could still happen. Notifications last year went out right at the end of the day.

Is anyone else refreshing their email like an absolute madman? As if it wouldn't automatically notify me when I got an email anyways....

Hey. First time commenting this year, I have been trying to avoid looking at it, in fear of losing my mind.
I CANT STOP LOOKING AT MY EMAIL

I am thinking maybe the Czech team was told that they would send out initial notifications on the 18th, so they sent out their emails early because of time zone differences etc? Fingers crossed it will be followed by all of the other emails later today!

Ugh, so true.
The emails to the Czech applicants are giving me hope, though! (Congratulations all of you--by the way! That is so freaking exciting!)
As for the rest of us, it's 9AM so I'll say it--maybe today?

@Loujoelou I'm pretty sure the 2017-2018 round is the round of Fulbright-ers that are currently on program, in the middle of their fellowships. Sadly, I don't think our apps have been sent to our respective commissions yet. But thanks for making me aware of their Instagram! I didn't even think about following them on social media.

I happened to see someone comment this on a previous Fulbright 2016-2017 board. These were the dates that Fulbright applicants were notified during their application cycle:
2015: January 16th... I think it was a Friday ?
2014: Tuesday, January 28th
2013: Friday, January 18th
2012: Thursday, January 19th
2011: Thursday, January 20th
2010: Friday, January 29th (Apparently they had issues that year with the Embark system going down)
2009: Friday, January 30th

Hi everyone!
I am a rising senior and am going to be applying for the ETA in Nepal. I have started my application and am in the very beginning phases of my personal statement and statement of purpose. I am a little nervous for this application process, but also super excited! I'd love to hear from anyone who has any experience with Nepal or any advice about the application process and how to make myself a more competitive applicant!
I look forward to staying posted on everyones application journeys

Hi bjoshi,
I am in the midst of applying to the Nepal ETA Fulbright for the 2018-2019 term (which will actually commence in 2019...) and saw your post on here! I haven't been able to find many other people who have been a part of the Nepal ETA program so I wanted to reach out and see if you have any advice for the application process. I am nervous about not being a competitive enough candidate and am just seeking any inside knowledge about the process from someone who has gone through it themselves. Anything about what they look for in candidates, or how the application process goes, would be great!
Let me know if you have any words of advice!
Thank you
